Hope you test negative soon, Jaks. I'm still testing when I get ill. I want to know if it's Covid so I can take it extra easy in recovery to avoid long covid again. I currently have one of the worst colds I have *ever* had but I'm testing negative so that's one plus point! |

I've still never tested positive. Anyone else fascinated by the Covid enquiry? All the written evidence. It's weirdly compelling; I particularly enjoyed Vallance's notes on Johnson today. |

I listened to this morning's session - was shocked at the lack of maths skill!

I found out today I can no longer order free tests online. Apparently I can still get them from a pharmacy.

Yes I'm finding it rather surprising the extent to which the various scientists are giving testimony that is directly contradicted by the minutes of the SAGE meetings that they attended. And reporters are reporting it like their testimony is revealed truth rather than the possibly mistaken recollections of flawed humans who have every incentive to varnish their own histories. In brief, the claims presented by Vallance today that it was clear by 14-15 March that the pandemic was growing much faster than they had previously thought, and that lockdown was urgently needed, are directly contradicted by the minutes of the SAGE meetings of the 16th and 18th March, at which they all agreed (Vallance, Whitty and Van Tam were all present) the doubling time was around 5-7 days and moderate social distancing was adequate at that time. Disappointing that no reporters seem to have the slightest curiosity about any of this. I conclude that not a single one of them has read the SAGE minutes, or if they have, they are sufficiently innumerate to not understand their consequence. Which won't stop them laying into Johnson for the same failing. To be fair, they are only journalists, he was playing at PM. The SAGE minutes can be downloaded in seconds by the complicated process of googling for them, if anyone doubts what I'm saying. The meetings of 13, 16, 18 and 23 March are particularly relevant. |

Thanks jda sallykate yeah, it's fascinating on a lot of levels. Some them pretty serious, others not so. I'm another person who has never tested positive - to my surprise given my devotion to public transport in London. |

It's still about Sharkie, so you may yet get it. Whether the test kits that are about could still detect it, I don't know. I only had it once, with a positive test anyway. I've had several cold or flu things over the nearly 4 years though, some with very similar symptoms though. At least with the vaccines very few people are being hospitalised or dying with it. Anyone know what the figures are for that now? G |
