Don't see why not.

For completeness, I should add here that Scotland seems to be doing over-50s. Also, various others like carers can get the jab in England, which my wife will probably take advantage of, not that she really likes the title of carer.

Sorry I just realised I got my wires crossed there, Scotland is doing flu, not covid, for over 50s.....

A step in the right direction. And those prices quoted are in the USA, it will presumably be cheaper here (as it is for flu).

I've lost track of eligibility etc for vaccines, and the current story of a new variant knocking around ahead of the winter has made me look, particularly because my son who has Downs Syndrome (variously put in and out of high risk groups as a condition throughout this pandemic) has also recently had a heart op so at least at amateurish face value would appear to be more likely to be immuno-compromised (or at least weakened) as he recovers (quickly, to be fair) from that.

We will of course ask the specialists and the docs, but getting an answer can be ponderous and vague. Anyone with any insight?

The following people are eligible for an autumn Covid booster:

Residents in care homes for older adults
All adults aged 65 years and over
People aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the Covid-19 chapter of the UKHSA Green Book on Immunisation
frontline health and social care workers.
People aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression, as defined in the UKHSA Green Book
People aged 16 to 64 years who are carers, as defined in the UKHSA Green Book, and staff working in care homes for older adults
