Mandymoo, Is Chertsey too far in? It's technically Surrey, but inside the M25! goo.gl Not a bad spot, surpisingly quiet considering where it is, next to the Thames, and convenient for the M3 corridor!

It was a light weight (for then) a frame tent and the wind was so strong that night it bent one of the poles!

Lakes, 'safe' river, sea, any would be fine. By 'really close', I mean walking distance with the relevant equipment, as I don't really like driving the MH off somewhere once I've parked up. I looked at Kingsbury Water, but with 15 lakes they don't do any swimming! Also looked at Pevensey, which is nice, but wondering if anyone has any favourites they could recommend.
