I am also unlikely to make any midweek meetings - I live about 40 mins from Cambridge, and work about 40 mins in the other direction. Sorry

Monday and Friday are both tricky for me - OH away and I have to do Cubs, swimming etc, but if they're best for everyone else that's fine

I've just seen this thread. I am a bit of a distance away but work is intermittant at the moment so might be around to help/join in sometimes. Will add my name to the group for good measure anyway!

Lyra OK
Welcome to Fetch, Stiggers! If you like, you can join the Cambridge Parkrun group. Near the top of this page, below the lurker count, there's a link to the group. Click on that and join if you wish. Don't worry, you're not signing up to anything. It just means you'll receive group fmails and gives us an idea of who's interested. |

Lyra OK
Ted, here's roughly the one I came up with: gmap-pedometer.com I missed out the narrow foot bridge at the top end of the park - there's a path you can follow to avoid it. The bit where I've cut across the grassy area at the end probably isn't really necessary, I think it might be better to follow along the path. Was just trying to make up distance, but can probably be better made up elsewhere. BW's route looks good. Let me know what you think and hope you have a good run! |

Cheers guys. Pretty much the limit of what you can do in MCP. I know the footbridge you mean Lyra, I like running over that one though as it is *boingy* If you continue your last loop the same as the first big one then it should take the finish away from the park entrance and into the playground area. BW, probably close to 13:00 today although I am fairly flexible with my lunch depending on what is happening in work. |

Hi all. I organise Bramhall parkrun near Manchester. Your routes look good. A couple of things that we learnt are: 2 laps is good - good for spectators and easy to sign/marshal. Any more than 2 laps is chaos due to lapping. If you can have a separate start/finish straight off the main loop. This makes the start/finish easy to manage and you can adjust the start/finish line to get the exact 5k. We thought that car parking would be a big problem but in fact almost all runners were happy to park some distance away and jog in - and many bike it. You will find that volunteers come forward from your running community once it is up and going. Keep at it it is great fun. Fmail me if you like. |
