Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

o.k., I have contacted the parkrun people with the idea of starting up a parkrun in Cambridge. If there is enough interest, I reckon this could be pushed further. Is anyone else interested in helping try to get this off the ground? I have sent of a request to find out how many people they regard as the minimum critical mass to get things going. The Parkrun model is a weekly Saturday 9am 5km time trial.

very interested in theory - reality would depend on fitting around U10 hockey and football away fixtures, school Saturday coaching and actually being able to run 5k (I'm working quite hard on the latter!)
Would it also be worth asking groups like Histon hobblers, the tri club and of course C+C?

yes, I was going to ask around at C&C and CUH&H when I got more details from the parkrun people and if it sounded feasible, but Histon Hobblers and Cambridge Tri are also good ideas.

Sounds like a plan. I'll speak to the Newmarket Joggers, sure there will be plenty of interest there.

Great idea, BW. Guys from Ely Runners might be interested, too.
