Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Would the cricket be a hazard in the summer months on Parkers Piece?

FR, I thought that PP had been discounted due to probable parking and ease of access issues.

Parking - ease - Queen Anne.

Ease of access - public transport and also before 9am on a Saturday isn't exactly busy?

One other thing is that it would be more than 4 laps - it's barely three-quarters of a mile round.

Boing!

Following fmails with Blue Wombat and emails with the organisers of Parkrun, I think we could really get this off the ground. BW is busy with work at the moment, so might not be able to put in as much time as required. As such, I've said that I'll take on as much of the administrative tasks as I can at this early stage.

You'll see that I've set up a group for all those interested to join. It would be helpful to know who would like to get involved so we can gauge how much support there would be for such an event.

Hopefully I'll be doing a recce of a couple of potential event locations this weekend. I'll be going to Milton Country Park and checking out a stretch roughly followed by the Turing Trail Relay to look at at pros and cons and to assess viability. I'm hoping to take a look at Coldhams Common and Stourbridge Common at some point too. Feel free to pipe up with location suggestions!

BW made the suggestion that those interested could meet one evening in a pub to discuss further. No date has been set at this stage, but I'll keep you all posted on the thread and hope you'll be able to make it. A representative of Parkrun hopes to be in attendance.

Be great to hear any thoughts. Let's give Cambridge the Parkrun it deserves! :)
