Day 1 done. I am another fidget. I am too impatient to 'get on with it' and need to get better at recognising that the sitting still and breathing are part of the process. It was slow paced today which was OK because I have all day.

The rainforest has given me an idea of how to add a little something extra to my new living room. I felt like there was something missing and I think plants is the answer. How long they would stay alive is another question.

I need to find "a space"
I was going to use Gnome'd old room but we bought a new double bed for mum so the room is now full of bed!

so need to find another space.
Part of me wants to get rid of my desk from teaching days but then it does store stuff and despite being about 20 years old is in perfect condition so no need to dispose of!

having the space set does make it easier for sure

Have you got a hall? All you need is a mat shaped space! I occasionally do mine in our work studio in front of my desk. Not ideal but at least I can have Adriene on my lovely fuckoff sized Mac screen!

PS have done my 50 minutes lower body workout so Adriene sounds like it will be a blessed relief after all those lunges, jumps and kicks!

Right, Day One done. It was longer than It should be as my ipad kept freezing and I eventually had to restart on my phone. Grr!

Anyway I'm glad it's out of the way as it took a while to get going.

Some useful stuff for runners to take away: Tucking the chin in 'just a bit'. Dropping it really. Remembering the neck is an extension of the spine.

My coach often has to remind me to drop my head when I'm in my starting blocks - and lots of runners either poke their heads forward (like chickens)- or throw their heads back (like idiots)

Sooooo - nice even line crown of head all the ways down the spine!

Day 1 done, I found the hardest part was sitting cross legged at the start :-O , I have a lot of stiffness in my left hip at the moment, although I hope that will improve as the month goes on.

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
In January 2016 fraggle decided to follow Adriene (of Yoga with Adriene fame -only she wasn't 'quite' so famous back then). It was the start of Adriene's second 30 Days of Yoga and fraggle started a thread and asked anyone interested to join in. I did, I completed the 30 days and I got a PB fpr my 60 metres at the end of it so it was certainly not detrimental....

ANYWAY

Fancy joining in with this year's 30 day programme - 'Home'?

Here's the link to Adriene's site, the link for 'Home' is right at the top
