Having decided to do some yoga yesterday and doing an Adriene on YouTube I’ve decided to join you guys. I’ve signed up so I’m a few days behind but will aim to do this daily from today. I did sign up in a previous year but got fed up with the waffle so sorry to read that’s still an issue. But I’ll try to persevere this year as she’s a good teacher.

My way of dealing with waffle is to zone out and focus on my breathing and making small adjustments like relaxing my face/jaw. Getting wound up is natural if it triggers you so don’t beat yourself up but try and distract yourself or find a different teacher. It doesn’t annoy me that much so it’s not difficult to ignore it for me.

Just done day 3. Ironically I was too sleepy last night to do it. A great start to the day though. I could easily catch my foot but found it difficult to balance once I was pressing my foot out. I'll do 4 tonight.

Sound advice from Katie.
I don't really get annoyed, just feel a small bit less woolly stuff would make useful words more likely to sink in.
There's also the possibility that the nature of online means Adriene feels silences need to be filled - at least to some extent. I 'did' Headspace for a while and - while boy can Andy Puddifoot waffle- there ARE silences. With your eyes closed. One tome I thought bloody hell I've been here being and breathing for HOURS ... only to discover my Mac had frozen. Let it go!

I mostly shout at her when she’s waffling when I’m in a pose that I find difficult. It may be intentional on Adriene’s part to distract you but sometimes it feels like she’s forgotten we are holding a lunge or trying to balance whilst she rambles endlessly.

Yes, I'll have to work on tuning out the waffle. GimmeMedals, your wrist will find downward dogs and planks hard on your recovering wrist (not just the weight but the flexibility of the wrist's range of movement)...take care that you don't overdo that wrist and come out of poses early, according to your wrist's feedback.
Trin, when I don't do yoga regularly my right leg has trouble coming up between the hands. It's a matter of hip flexor strength and finding the space to get that pesky foot up between the hands!

Just done 2 and 3 back to back, I did at one point tell her to get a bloody move on, I’d forgotten how much she witters on at times. Finding it tough in places but I know it will get easier with time.

Thanks Garfield, although I did yoga twice a week for over a year and still never managed it so maybe I never will
