In that case I wouldn't worry about it, Trin. We all know you are a strong, fast runner - your body must be doing lots that's RIGHT. Perhaps the move will happen, perhaps it won't. In the mean time 'step or hop' to that low lunge position.

My yoga teacher says that everyone’s body is different so you need to adjust your body in a way which helps you bring your leg forward. I found that really helpful and I managed to do it during yoga classes, albeit much easier on one side than another. In my case adjusting my hand position helped

It helps that my yoga teacher is very short and quite dumpy so you can literally see what she means

Thanks, I guess in the overall scheme of things it's not *that* important, so long as the intent is there

Not sure if it makes you feel better, Trin but I always need to give my foot a little help.

It's not a thing to worry about Trin...no two bodies are the same - we're all unique versions of ourself at a given point in time.

I have the exact same problem Trin. I also find she goes too fast sometimes. Downward dog, hop to front of mat, forward fold, halfway lift.....hang on I haven’t got to forward fold yet.
I did day two yesterday. All those planks mean that I’m bent double with abs pain today. Think I’ll leave day 3 til tomorrow.

I'm notoriously slow at picking up routines (in dancing) and similarly I remember getting left behind the first year we did this. But like most things it gets better with practice and you begin to recognise 'downward facing dog, step or hop to front of mat, forward fold, halfway lift - your version - forward fold - and release all the way to the top - mountain pose.' as a much used sequence.
I think all my blocks practice - as in starting blocks - not yoga blocks - has given me a helping hand (or foot!) with the dog to lunge/plank to lunge thing. My coach is always on at me: 'Move that back foot fast! Knee yourself in the face! DRIVE!'
