I love my Giant hybrid but they are probably a bit more than you want to spend |

I have a ladies specialised hybrid and it is great. Have had for 6 years now and still very good working order and it was around the £500 mark

Just checking back in to let CStar know that their suggestion of Mapmyride as a bike satnav worked really well for me and I'm quite impressed (although it does burn your phone battery pretty fast!)

Anybody have any knowledge of these 2 bikes and help me choose which one to get? cyclesolutions.co.uk leisurelakesbikes.com I can get the Merida for the same price so that's not an issue. I know the Merida has a slightly better level drivetrain but I prefer that ratio on the Trek. It will be used for a 30min commute twice a week as well as around 200 other miles a month on a mix of fairly shoddy roads and the odd trail depending on the weather. I currently use an 11 year old Voodoo Marasa hybrid so am used to being quite upright. They are both very low in stock from my supplier so want to order asap so any advice would be great. TIA. |

The Merida will give you an easier gear for uphills but an odd front ring size though(?), Trek with 12mm thru axle will be stiffer but less choice of upgrading wheels if you choose too. I guess it comes down to colour! My vote would be the Trek! |

If you can hold on a couple of months, the 2021 colours will come out and those linked might be discounted. In a normal year, that starts around August but I think bikes of all sorts are selling out everywhere at the moment so 2020 might be different.
