He is but, it's a bit chilly ;-)

I have to say now isn't the ideal time for me to be buying the bike but, I've been waiting for this for a while, so hopefully I won't be sending it back

Perhaps I'd better get it out and scratch it quick :-)

At least you can use the argument that you might have to wait quite a while for the same deal.

Decisions, decisions. Road or MTB tomorrow? think I'll wait and see what the weather does. Nice that it is warm enough at last to have the option.

Not sure whether to put this here or the maintenance thread, but I'll try here.

Narrow-Wide chainrings. I gather this is quite a common thing for single chainring mtb setups, but often coupled with a clutch in the rear derailleur. I'm looking to make my commuter road bike single chainring (I only use a small selection of the gears, and the triple currently on it is an arse to clean), but don't really want to put a full 1x clutched setup on something that has such a hard life.

What are people's thought's on how it may work to just use a narrow-wide chainring with a standard Sora derailleur. Am I asking to be dropping my chain all the time?

Also from anyone who has used them, do they use standard chains or have specific narrow wide chains?

Or am I far to over-complicating this and on road just a standard chainring may work?
