Please adjust your brakes and not your breaks, Hann, dear Although lack of one may lead to more of the others.

ooh, shall we start talking about gear inches next? Hann, I've got a 39/53 on the front and I think 11-23 or maybe 25 on the back....which was all I could get, as if I wanted a higher range in campag I was going to have to buy a record block which was extremely silly money. I do struggle a bit on the hills round here. I'm still keeping an eye out on ebay for bits to put a winter fixed bike together.... |

Frankly, I'm surprised she hasn't slapped me yet. Was doing a bit of research today on bike racks for the car by peering at other people's in a car park. Some seem very sturdy and sit on a tow bar, others seem a lot more flimsy. What do other folks use? |

I use a Thule Euroclassic 2 bike carrier. One of these but this is the 3 bike version - wiggle.co.uk Not cheap (got mine cheap) but it's well built sits on the tow ball solid and carries some expensive and at times heavy downhill mountain bikes.

< slaps SW for good measure > No, you are right SW, I do need a bit of help from time to time Don't use a bikerack, as my bikes fit into the back of my van, no problems so can't help there... |

Ah, yes, idio, it was one of those I spotted on a car today - looked pretty bombproof, but yes, not cheap. Hann - we have an Astra estate which can take two bikes easily with only one seat down - front wheel and saddles off - but for three bikes when there's three people in the car is what I was musing..... Plus I'd need a tow bar although i suspect my lovely boss would help me with that. Hmmm, much pondering to be done. |
