And I guess they'd be 26 x 1.75s too. Have found some on wiggle but just wondering if anyone had any personal prefs.

Un-cross your fingers people, the cycle to work scheme is in place :):):):):)

so expect a few 'which bike would you choose' questions in the very near future :):):):)

I use to use Specialized Nimbus 1.5 with amradillo protection and never got a puncture with them. Brother uses them on his commuter and has only 1 puncture in two years. Conti do a MTB slick that goes down to 1"

I have slicks on a MTB. Which at least means I get to ride on the road(as opposed to only using the turbo) until my shoulder can bear the position of my road bike again.

Yay KR2, really pleased for you. x

Thanks for the info on tyres - going to investigate further. Tis definitely cheaper than getting a road bike but not quite as much fun.

Very impressed with my new saddle which has bits cut out so your bits don't get mangled during a ride. :-)

Can anyone direct me to some advice on disc brake maintenance/troubleshooting? My Avid Juicy 3's pads are rubbing against the rotor... some kind of misalignment. The rotors don't seem to be bent though. :-S

Try un-doing the brake caliper so it's lose then pull the brake really hard and while still holding the brake on do the caliper back up. Or you could try realigning the caliper by sight or it may even require re-spacing. The pistons are going full back when the brake is released?

Yep, the pistons seem to be moving freely (when the wheel is off so that the rotor isn't pushing against the pad, anyway) so I will try your first suggestion. TBH I gathered that was the best bet but didn't really have the nerve to mess with it until I had a second opinion. (Disc brakes are a whole new mechanism to me.) Thanks!

guys I am seriously thinking of reducing my running after my half in October and training for a bike challenge
Apart from sycling shorts will I benefit from cycling clothes instead of running kit?
I don't have clip ins yet but will look to get some also
All advice appreciated!
