Boardman get good reviews even if they sell them in Halfords - not sure they have one for £999.99 tho;)

I have been looking at them, they do a budget one at £599 but my employers c2w window shut on friday :-(
I notice they do a very posh looking TT frame one.

I'm not thinking in terms of buying a bike from them, but wanting to understand which british companies there are in the market for something I'm doing at work. Looking into triathlons and bikes has made me realise there's quite a big and fast growing market out there, so maybe some interesting companies

British Cycling's Road Team/Halfords Bikehut team all use Boardman bikes now. They had non-Carbon ones during the winter with the same setup as the Carbon top of the range jobs they're using now.

Not sure about other Brit brands - don't Triandrun do their own stuff?

You find apart from small custom frame builders that most UK bikes are designed here then made in the Far East (nothing wrong with this as the build quality is very high now days). Their is some UK component manufactures.

Agree with Idio, any that are British makes are rarely made here. Not sure if Ribble are made in the UK, I know Mercian are (Derby based).

RT- from going into Cycle King I get the impression that the makes they stock are not at the quality end of the market, so not sure to be honest. Not being a bike snob, but I think you could get a better make of bike for £399 that you could trust a bit more. I think you could get a Giant SCR for £399, or maybe even go to a Decathlon, they have some very good bikes for not a huge amount of money. Do you want a womens specific frame? If so you may struggle to find one for less than £500, I've been checking for the other half haven't found a great deal.
