That looks gorgeous. I made a white chocolate and orange cake last night. It was nice, except I didn't hear the buzzer and left it in the oven a few minutes too long, so a bit black around the edges |

Scones are the easiest things to bake! It's is because they are the only things I can bake. Even though I'm a chef, I'm rubbish at baking, basically because I'm lazy and I don't like weighing stuff out etc etc!! I started making scones at work a year ago, and have made scones 4 times a week every week for over a year! Luckily no one ever asks me to make anything else, no one, it seems, is bored of scones yet!! I'm thinking of jazzing things up for Christmas, and thought I might try Brie and cranberry scones. Anyone got a recipe? Otherwise I'll just be chucking stuff in and hoping for the best! |

Funny you mentioned scones Liliaicha - I made some herby scones tonight. This was because I'd made a lemon-chicken stew of dubious appeal so the scones were there as an accompaniment to encourage the kids to eat something! The scones went down well. The lemon chicken... less so.

I am thinking of baking sweet treats in the run-up to Christmas to sell to raise funds for my marathon charity - what would you suggest? I'm thinking biscotti (because they're nice and easy and keep well) ... what else?

Fantastic, I've just found this thread. My thing is mainly biscuits. Today I will be making Chocolate Orange Shortbread for hubbies shooting party tomorrow. It's a test run for Wednesday when I shall be making it for the trick or treaters with the addition of spooky spiders of course. I'm trying royal icing sugar for the first time, I'll post results later.
