What a waste of ratatuoille.

We have a stash of non nestle "smarties" - actual fair trade ones at that.

They are hiding in a tin waiting for us to make gingerbread men.

Will be doing a christmas cake next weekend after Abingdon, still my favourite cake. I will not be making my own marzipan nor will I be making twee little figures to sit on top, just a plain well fed rich fruit cake. Baking doesnt have to be GBBO standard to look at as long as it tastes good

I haven't done my own christmas cakes since we had the kids. My mum makes them.

This year I had planned to do my own - and my own marzipan. But then the ceramic hob packed in along with half the other appliances. I just don't think I can make and look after my cakes with the added stress of having the bliddy kitchen re-done. And I'm always aware that whenever I heat the oven the hob (over it) expands and contracts and there is a crack in the actual hob. If that shatters I will be without a cooker. I need another plan.

Maybe my mum will make them.

Or I might make them but at mum's house. I did that with my wedding cake. I made the cake but I'm no artist so a friend decorated it for me.

hello
I bake a lot - I have teenagers to fill :-)
Today will be William's birthday cake - an orange one has been requested and I need to think about Christmas cake and puddings - I've usually got my puddings done before this, but it's been a difficult year this one

Orange-flavoured, orange-coloured, or :-0 orange-shaped, HB? I think the last would be hardest to do. It would for me, anyway :-)

That should be lovely, though I'm a little disappointed you're not going for a whole Seville that can be portioned easily into segments :-) Hope it goes well. It's an unusual flavour request.
