sounds like my dog might like playing with them rolling them around the kitchen floor then ;-)

:-) They do taste delicious. Not sure they'd be much of a delight once passed through a dog though, so if s/he's inclined to chew toys you might want to think again :-0

I think freezing the pomegranate juice for use with a nice cava would be the best option if you're only expecting a couple as they won't yield a huge amount of juice. I've seen recipes for pomegranate sorbet, which is very nice, but they tend to be US, where the fruit is much more plentiful, and requite 8-10 pomegranates. The skin and membranes are bitter so don't include them.

Rather than picking the pomegranate seeds out with a pin or cocktail stick apparently the easiest thing to cut it in half and hold it with the flat side on your palm over a bowl of water while bashing it with a wooden spoon. The seeds fall out into the bowl and again the skin will float on the top.

Oh I like the idea of freezing the juice for adding to cava :-)

Clueless
Just popped in to say I have just eaten a slice of DaveA's cake (page 4) and it is sublime! :-)

I am going to try an make a malt loaf in a bit :) I got a big jar of malt extract that is usually £6 for 86p. Just clearance stock, so here goes.

(Sorry I am off topic aren't I)

Oh, that looks nice :-) My older boys still like to have their birthday cake, even though they're all left home.

It's probably one of the things I'll have to give up when they settle down, isn't it?
