Welcome snufkin and cat’s whiskers.
How long is it before you go GG? I cannot imagine ever diving. Snorkelling is my limit (in clear shallow water). It’s how I injured my knee - everyone thinks it was running related but it was a snorkelling injury 😂
I’m slowly building mileage and did a tough workout with my personal trainer yesterday (will have several days of DOMS from that).

Thanks all for the warm welcome!
The diving sounds amazing, GG. Part of me would love to have a go but I'm like you PenW, snorkelling is my limit.

How did you manage to injure your knee snorkelling Pen? I love diving once I’m in the water I turn into a mermaid (I don’t look like a mermaid but I feel at one in the water) learning to dive off browns bay in Tynemouth clear warm water with pretty fishes is the best!
The scuba club were so lovely I feel UK diving may be back on my agenda too. Although getting older I may need a dry suit 😂
Hoping to get out for a run tonight and I can bore you with pics from the reef while we’re away. We go next Friday can’t quite believe it!

It was a panic stricken exit from the water leading to a horrible twist of my knee as I climbed into the boat GG (tore my cartilage). Even snorkelling in clear and not too deep areas was pretty terrifying for me. I calmed a bit with time but was still fairly panicky. It was a huge achievement to just get in the water. I’m fine in swimming pools and can swim well but open water is my worst nightmare.
Just back from another run

Just added the South West Coast 2 Coast 100km Ultra Challenge to the Race Planner. I'm going to be walking it though so does it count?

My first experiences of snorkelling I was also a scared but once I learnt to dive I’ve been ok. I’m not keen on open water swimming though I like to see what’s near me
Didn’t get a run in ended off working late but means I’m prepped for my meeting with the grown ups tomorrow.

Well I'm super impressed; the small bit of snorkeling I've done I was surprised to find myself terrified of what lurked in the depths beneath me, and I'd always loved swimming in the sea before. Maybe a childhood of freezing British waters allowed me to just not think about it, and then clear warmer waters suddenly brought a whole world, but also my imagination to life. And, the idea of walking 100km. Hats off. How long will it take you strut brother?

I managed 45 minutes last night. Scuppered on Wednesday by awful traffic and yesterday from my usual longer Wednesday run by my husband's meeting overrunning. I'm going to have to resign myself to getting up early to fit these weekday runs in regularly. I've known that for some time, but ugh! At least it's getting lighter, but I hate running to a time pressure.

Hi Snufkin, it's a two day thing, so probably about 11 hours per day!
