Header updated, removed Febs target races, and added a few as above.

I'm looking at a similar event in Guernsey in June Sam, a loop every hour until no-one wants (is able?) to continue. Tricky to judge flights for that sort of thing, not to mention recovery from Hardmoors.

Chunkwizard - I try to be fairly consistent, hitting around 50-70 miles per week during training, the big issue is the post race recovery, often takes me a few weeks before I'm ready for any kind of running, let alone back to full strength. But with only 3 or 4 big races per year (4 this year currently in the plan) that's not too bad.

Oumaumau - AoBtD is only 6km per loop, so in theory the running is easy, it's just going to be mentally tough I think. Balancing how fast to run versus how long to rest each lap. Having a very fixed target, in that I am not there for the win, just to get enough laps to count for the grand slam, will hopefully make that easier.

Thanks oumaumau. Currently +13% but nursing a swollen stiff knee, praying it improves before Saturday's SDW50!

Target race for me now Shakespeare marathon Apr 28th, target sub 3.20.

Good last 3 weeks of 50+ mileage, now very fatigued, so this will be a cut back week, before going at it again for another week, and then into the taper.

Thanks oumaumau👍

Taper time indeed for me. My +% will soon be falling as expected.

Sounds nasty StuH, hope it responds to a bit of POLICE (Protection, Optimum Loading, Ice, Compression, Elevation) more here : running-physio.com

SDW can be tough on the knees, plenty of up and down - interestingly I suffered my worst injury there a few years ago, tore a calf in the first two miles leading to an 'interesting' walk/hobble back down the long hill and drive home. Worth keeping your car keys with you just in case...

Thanks for the link oumaumau, been doing most of that. Although I think maybe 17 miles on Saturday was pushing the limit of "optimal loading".

My wife will be supporting me, so will be able to taxi me if necessary.

Thanks for the work on the thread oumaumau.

I'm miles ahead at the moment, but marathon training in finished (target 2:55 at this Sunday's Manchester marathon).

My milegage is then set to plummet - I'm expecting about 100miles for this month tops.

That does seem a little excessive StuH ;)

All the best for Sunday paul0, the hay's in the loft as they say, hope the weather's kind :) I'll stick it in the header, let us know how you get on...
