Thanks Ouma! I’ve not heard from CW for a while but will be meeting a few other Dashers at the sub 90 starting point if you still fancy joining. I may we’ll be there at the very last min as I want to leave as little time as possible between warm-up miles and my MP session. Weather looks amazing. I’ve been on hols this week so I’m ready for a bit of warmth, no probs. I’m a bit grumpy actually. I put my racing eggs in the basket at the Worthing HM a couple of weeks ago. Looking for a sub 81 I was met by a really windy day and ended up running 81:01!! In no shape to race again tomorrow so will have to stick with the plan. There’ll be other opportunities. |

I’m here! Thanks for the luck, I’ll need it I think! One of the Coasters is going to run with me as well so hopefully I should have some help zipping up my man suit.

After a bit of jiggery-pokery on the mileage tables, we now have 39 runners on the target list so a direct comparison with end of January stats is going to be difficult, but here goes - the thread stats to the end of February : There are now 39 runners this year with the declared target of 2000 miles. Of these 39, 26 are on target as of this morning so 66.66%+ Sadly the symmetry from January is now in the bin, (or would that always be the case - 20% more than target after two months is a lot more of a stretch after all) however looking at those 20% above and 20% below target, and those in-between we get 14, 7, and 18 - so more or less 36%, 18%, and 46% (cf. January’s 27%, 27% and 45%) Outliers…. At the end of February we have 4 (so +1) runners at more than 50% up on target, and only 1 (-9) are more than 50% behind target after the second month. This is readily explained by the table clear-out, as I think one of the 50%+ crew wasn’t in the stats for last month, and if anyone was going to have not set a target this year (or not 2000 miles anyway) it’s those who aren’t training as much… We had two target races this month with Windsor Wool and chunkywizard both out for a gallop at Wokingham Half, both looking for a speedy sub 1:30. A quick stalk of their training suggests both were successful, so well done Next month, hopefully, we’ll have a comparable set of numbers, and the result of some more of those target races. It’ll also be getting to peak time for those spring marathoners out there, so it’ll be interesting to see what we can see. Well done all, sometimes just getting out the door can be a challenge so good on you for getting that far (and often much further). It's early days yet, so for those behind target there's no rush, you have 11 months (most of them warmer, with longer days) to catch up. For those streaking ahead, hope you are enjoying it - remember rest/recovery is where the adaption happens. If you'd like to see any other stats at the end of each month, or even no stats at all, then post about it below. Stay tuned and best of luck! |
