Illness has made March very miserable indeed so got a big deficit to claw back the rest of the year.

Still hopeful of making the target with some patience and perseverance.

Some summer commuting miles could make the difference once I build back to normal mileage weeks.

Best to get these things out of the way early sjjh, only an extra 10 miles or so a month to catchup :)

I thought I was further behind than that, hadn’t been looking so should catch up a bit by the end of the month.

Most here will not remember me! I'm now 3 months post hip replacement and thought that I would be running by now! A troublesome shin pain has now got in the way of a return to light training and being dealt with by my physio and occasional pain killers. The fact that I had hip issues since birth apparently has created an inevitable imbalance in various areas of my leg and which now need to be strengthened--it's a laborious gym based necessity but I'm still banking on a return to running soon!

Bad luck torey, you really have been through the mill on this with last minute cancellations and now this. Hope you get back to running soon!

I believe you were on crutches at the end of January torey, so to be dealing with other issues now must be so frustrating, if understandable. Best wishes for the continued recovery.

Unfortunate torey, but worth getting any imbalance issues out of the way early on in your come back, rather than them striking when you've built up some fitness... Other than the shin pains, how do you feel? As SailorSteve said - crutches at the end of Jan. to light training now (even if hampered) must feel like a real progression :)

Thank you for the inspiration guys--as always on this thread. I feel as if I'm doing ok and back to work in ten days time (where I walk a few miles a day every day). Plenty of gym work continues and lucky to have a physio and ultra runners who actually own the gym and who keep a good eye on what I'm doing.

Good lad torey. Keep on keeping on.

I find start lines more moving than finish lines. I always think about the folk who would love to be on that line, despite the pain to come. I shall think of you tomorrow.
