I'm not sure tbh hillstrider but I guess it will be 80's music with perhaps a covers band or two over the weekend. We've never done anything like this before but quite looking forward to it.

I'm afraid the eighties weren't really my era. The 60's and 70's were "where I was at."😁

The 80's was my era but I grew up with music every weekend, I like music from the 50's onwards but now only listen to music on the car radio. I was a mobile DJ for about 24 years.

Snap HS I got 30:36 at my Kapiti Coast parkrun yesterday. 😄 It felt a bit better than the one last week as we’re on the coast and it was cooler.

Hi I’m new to this thread. My target this year, after a successful 1000k last year. Seems quite a jump but think I finished strong and roughly average 30k/week. Mg biggest fear is an injury but that’s always a risk :)

Hello Velofrance as you increase your distance do it slowly and no more than 10% on your longest run and 10% a week too and hopefully that will help reduce the risk of injury.
Welcome to the thread and good luck with your target.

Welcome Velofrance I’m sure you’ll manage it just do it slowly as FF said.

Well done getting out in the wind and rain hs.

I ran with my friend yesterday her longest run in a while slow steady social and such beautiful countryside we did 8.1m downhill the whole way so made it an easy pleasant run. Just over 30 for the week. Easy week planned next week I’m at running show at the weekend so won’t be anything big happening - apart from credit card statement 🤣

We did an 80’s night last year fancy dress I went with all the bright colours some great outfits I’ll try to find some ideas for you.

The guy who won dressed up as a ghostbuster and the woman was from Hi Di Hi. We had MarioKart characters as well.

Music wise that's where I was at too hs! I now only listen to music I "discover" on Spotify or my own faves from the past, I've not listened to music on the radio for nigh on thirty years.
Sounds like you're going to enjoy the 80's bash FF. The early 80's gave me my best running times, somehow I carried on running after that😂.
Wow to you Park Run/5k runners, hs and LL. Well done both .
Hope you enjoy the challenge and the thread Velofrance.
Guess what? Still can't run☹️!
