Nearly in my neck of the woods @EarlyRiser. Unfortunately I'm too far away to meet up for a run/coffee. I'm in South Lincolnshire.

Bit of a change to running in Spain EarlyRiser and your run on fields sounded nice. Betcha looking forward to getting back to warmer temperatures though. 3c again and the wind quite keen this morning. Still keeping up just enough miles to feel comfortable above the line. Cba feeling gone (for now!), 3.5 miles on roads which thankfully were clear of frost and ice. A nice red sunrise before the rain arrived. |

I been doing a horrible job at keeping my log of treadmill runs but I have now added them all. I don't really enjoy running on treadmill but my asthma tends to be bad in the cold weather. It is also not as bad on joints so that helps too. Anyway I did parkrun in 21:28 yesterday which is my fastest parkrun since 8th Feb 2020. Definitely have sub-21 in me as I haven't been doing any long runs...not sure about sub-20 as I been trying forever. I am dead on target for 1000 miles at the moment but I am going to go for a run later.

Long runs certainly helps with the shorter races @falcarius. My shorter times came after marathon training and the long slow runs.

Well done Steve keeping well above the line. I just 'crept' over it this morning, but have earned the 23,000 miles badge. I'm happy with that. Well done Falcarius for yesterday's parkrun in 21.28. I'm sure that you have a sub 20 in you. I suggest a mixture of long slow runs, hill reps, fartlek, recovery runs and rest days. My fastest 5k was the Victory Cup (Portsmouth) in 18.08 when I was 47. This morning was a solo hilly 4.73 miles on roads. I got home just before the heavy rain started. I won't be running for the next two or three days, as I have my appointment tomorrow at the Endoscopy Unit. |

Good luck with your apt HS. I was marshalling at Juniors today which is about 5 miles so got up early and ran there. I’m less than a mile behind the line so may just manage to get above for the month. Good to see you enjoyed your outing Steve. |

Hillstider: hope the hospital appointment goes well. 18.08 for 5k is brilliant at any time of life. Not a league I've ever been in. 9.1 to add including parkrun. Happy to come in a few seconds under 25 mins. Ytd: 94.0 |

Thank LL and Donnie 1, I'll let you know how I got on ASAP. Well done LL for running 5 miles to marshal the Junior parkrun. We also have a Junior parkrun now. I'm sure that you will get over the line. Thanks Donnie 1, I was with Team Solent at the time, which I joined when I was 40, and at the same time as Roger Black and. Kris Akabusi. Of course, I didn't train with them, but with teenage boys. That was very challenging, as they didn't want 'an elderly man' running faster laps than them. Well done for your 9. 1 miles including a parkrun, in a few seconds under 25 minutes. You are very close now to the magic 100 miles for the month. |
