Crikey you lot have been chatty!

CCF is Combined Cadet Force - I used to run a contingent in my old school. It is a bit like scouts but with the added fun of trusting teenagers to fire rifles. I now have a national role on the selection board for commissioning adults as officers. It is a voluntary role that could easily take more time than my full time job - essentially working to ensure that the organisation continues to have adults committed to running it for the benefit of the youngsters.

Had a horrible drive home from Nottingham- lots of flooded roads - followed by a treadmill run. Am binge watching ‘Last Tango In Halifax’ while treadmilling.

Hope everything goes well for you HS.

5k this morning, was chilly and drizzly. Must have been heavy rain through the night as I had to watch for standing water on my drive to work.

6 miles this morning, weather was actually not too bad despite the crappy forecast we had for today, of course could all change 😁.
Sun is still out now although a little breezy.

Thanks Lesley, everything went really well, nothing wrong, and I can stop taking the capsules. I had the throat spray, but not sedation. The nurse couldn't operate the cannula in my veins, despite saying that they were ok. I'm glad that I wasn't sedated, as I was able to watch on the screen as the tube went down my throat and then back out again. It didn't hurt, but was a bit uncomfortable.

Well done for this mornings 5k in heavy rain and standing water. Dodgy for driving. It was the same here, very strong winds 🌪⛈️ and heavy rain. The roads were flooded in Brockenhurst, and we were afraid of stalling the engine and getting stuck.

MrHSc, well done for this mornings 6 miles.

Well done Peter for todays 10.1 miles. If you keep this up, you will be one of the first to the 1000 miles.

Dubairunner, sounds good, a quick run after work, followed by drinks at the club 🍻

Glad everything went well HS!

Peter has overtaken me again 🤣🤪

I went back to work - and can now hardly talk. I’m going to resort to giving the students textbooks and making them get on with it tomorrow!

Monday is my usual longer run day @Mrsbridgewater

Having missed entry for Inverness Half, I looked on Inverness Half Facebook site re transfers.

A few people seem to be offering places they can't use.

Regulations say that transfers can be done with initial fee (minus transfer fee) being refunded to original registrant once new entrant has paid full entry fee.

Some that can't use their place are asking me to pay transfer fee directly to them.

That is not on, right.

I don't think I'm wantig to pay full (late) entry fee + someone else's transfer fee.

Thanks MrsB, it was a relief getting the all clear 😀

I'm sorry that since returning to work you can hardly talk.
