Hope the knee is ok HS.

Well the schools are closed today due to this storm, so far it's not too bad. Supposed to be very windy later. Parkrun is cancelled for tomorrow. Will see what happens.

Hopefully it's better tomorrow and I can get a run in. Will need to avoid wooded areas which doesn't give me a lot of options.

Wise decision to rest that knee hs, hope it's a quickly disappearing niggle.
When I worked it was always run before work gg, glad you were able to do that and enjoyed it too.
Well done on your five miler Donnie1 and the additional one mile treadmill. Glutten for punishment πŸ˜‚!
Hope everyone in the north of the country is ok during the incoming storm which according to the news we hear is very severe.
Not the case down here, a bit "blowy" but nothing unusual. Was 9c when I did 3.12 miles(!) on roads in the dark of course. Felt better than the last few days, warmer mornings make it easier.

Donnie1,thanks. Well done for your 5 miles.

Lesley, thanks. The schools are all open in my neck of the woods. Definitely keep away from woods and forests.

Steve, thanks. The knee was still niggling during this mornings Farmers Walk, so I won't parkrun tomorrow. Well done for this mornings 3.12 miles on roads.

When I worked, I used to run in the lunch hour, and when flexible working was introduced, it was often over the hour.

We seem to have been lucky in the New Forest region with the weather. It rained heavily during the night, with strong winds, but it has calmed down this morning. The sun 🌞 is shining and the wind has dropped. I'm pleased, as I didn't fancy driving to the dentist this afternoon in a howling gale πŸŒͺβ›ˆοΈ

During this mornings shopping, I spotted air fryer liners on a top shelf. I pulled one out of the box, and the box fell down, emptying all the contents into my trolley. I was very embarrassed, and had to pick them all up, return them to the box, and replace on the shelf. An assistant was watching, but didn't attempt to helpπŸ˜•

Not been on the forum for a while as I decided to take 4 weeks of from running to try and clear the niggly injuries I have been picking up post Lisbon marathon but looks like everyone is back into the swing of running which is good to see 😊.

Back properly into running again this week but doing alternate days in between the Achilles rehab exercises so as not to load it too much.
20 miles in total this week with 8 miles this morning in the gale force winds, not nice at all.
Fitness predictably is shot to pieces and all the runs felt like I was doing threshold runs πŸ˜‚.

MrHSc, that was very wise, taking 4 weeks off running with a dodgy Achilles. Well done for this weeks 20 miles, including 8 miles this morning in gale force winds. It will take a while after 4 weeks off, to return to previous fitness.

Oof, 3 hours sleep is tough @Dubairunner, though I didn't get that much more as I'm trying to finish painting this wardrobe!

Weather was awful this morning but cleared up in the afternoon so managed a quick 5k while Osip was at piano. I hope I'll be able to catch up to the rate tomorrow (Currently on 99.9km) but we shall see...

Swapped my long run from Sunday to today as I will be driving home from a CCF weekend in Nottingham. Left home at lunchtime, got to Nottingham at 3pm, parked my car and set off for a run with no idea where I was going! Had a lovely run through a nature reserve, past rivers, canals and ponds. I did feel a bit guilty as I wasn't in work - I've got laryngitis and my voice is still not fully back. No way I could teach a class - even if it was 32 of the most compliant teenagers - so school was not an option, and I took advantage of that to avoid driving through the rush hour/in the dark.

I won't have time to run tomorrow, but may get 40 mins on Sunday.

Sorry to hear about the knee, hs. Wishing you a quick recovery.

Hope everyone is okay with the storms over there. Take care.

Congrats to those who have hit the 100 milestone already, Peter and MrsB. Amazing effort.

Glad to hear you are on the mend MrHsc. I too have had a slow start to the year. But I am back out there and feeling okay. Good to see you are too. It’s funny how it feels like the fitness leaves you so quick, even after a couple of weeks. Got any marathons lined up for 2025?

Running in the dark, Steve? You’re keen. Well done.

My first back to back runs for 2025. 10.25km yesterday and 11km today.
