Scottdog, I'm impressed. That's really good to hear that you're back to regular running after such a significant problem.
gg, I sympathise. I'm in a similar boat with regards to mileage, despite a marathon. And I've picked up some wretched cold/cough thing, which I'm hoping will go as quickly as it arrived and let me get back to it. I woke up this mornimg and everything was too bunged up to even think about exercise. I only need 5 miles to get to the 100 - but this morning the stairs left me a bit breathless!
Still, persevere.... and don't overdo it. (Kettle/pot/black!)

Oh no 3M hope it clears quickly.
I’ve felt a bit like I’ve got a cold. I had my flu jab last week and they said it could leave me with mild symptoms (apparently this years jab is doing that) and I did start with mild symptoms cough, sore throat, bad head since. I have been doing LFT’s and had a PCR after holiday all negative so don’t think it’s more sinister.
Haha I also say do as I say not as I do 😉

Aren’t we all great at giving advice and doing the polar opposite🤣 I’ve been struggling through not being 100% but hoping I’m coming through it.
Gg and mmm hope you both feel better soon. I missed out the 100 last month and it kind of took the pressure off.

Oh dear, everyone seems to be suffering with some sort of lurgy. My running friends have had sore throats and heavy colds, but fingers crossed 🤞, I have escaped so far. I suggest that it is beneficial to take things easy, or rest completely to give the body time to recover.
Today is a rest day from running for me. Get well soon everyone 🙏

Thanks all.
I survived the audit having to give the auditors something so they could find an improvement suggestion!
I think I’m going to head home and take an hour off now and work later when it’s dark and less inspiring.
Throat is still a bit sore headache not so back so it’s definitely the glasses and work station set up at home this could mean another new desk is needed argh!

LL and gg, hope the " not feeling so good" reverses quickly. I read this week ( knew it and have read similar before) an article about the difference between being fit and being healthy. Of course it must depend on what's being measured but I do know a lot of people, who on the face of it are overall more healthy than a lot of runners I know! I've often said to friends that my wife is the fittest unhealthy person I know. (In the nicest possible way)! For me, as the age clock ticks, I'm getting more small " unhealthy" experiences but still consider myself pretty "fit". Ideally I want to be fit AND healthy. Felt fit enough on my 5k this morning!

Hope everyone is recovering well!
Well done Steve, looking more positive now!
Glad you are feeling better now LL!
A very tough structured training session this morning with Sarah in the forest. Total mileage 6.47, including 5 sets of 6 x 30 seconds hard, with one minute jog recoveries. Garmin Connect said "unproductive!" Words fail me!!

I'm not sure about the science of going for a run to clear one's lungs & sinuses. But it seems to have worked.
See how I feel tomorrow!
