Morning all

Pretty much on target. I'm stretching out the long run and also adding a second easy run into the schedule so can run with my better half. Getting closer to 20 miles a week now.

Entered my first Trail race over here. It's in the Los Alcornocales (cork oaks) Natural Park. Only the 'mini' one at 11k mind you, not the 22k (noo!). Even so, there's 1000 feet of climb. So I'm doing my hilly effort today ...

Another 4.2 clocked slowly and carefully on hard frozen ground. Garmin Connect not playing to upload just yet but should take me to 36.x

Sorry to hear this MrsB, but try to remember work doesn't matter (other than to pay the bills) and hope you don't quit (running)

JackFW sorry you have being taken out by the cough, I have had it since just before Xmas and it has totally stalled my running as well. I am lagging behind but if the op goes ahead as planned I will be lucky to hit any decent number this year (reminding myself that pre Covid 600m was a good year) I am focusing on strength as a priority so balancing with that.

Sorry you are pulling out of your race, but it is a sensible decision both for the cough and the foot. Hope you can get it rehabilitated quickly and wow Sydney marathon... that will be AMAZING.

Short run at lunch as I had to walk the dog prior, the paths are still icy in places making it a slow careful meander through the streets. Very low 21.5 for me so far.

Stay upright if you're out there at the moment everyone and well done for what you are doing.

My morning run came through ok before the Garmin Connect had an outage. All back to normal now.

A 4.18 miles this morning with the Wednesday Group, including run out and back, and 7 hilly reps of 0.32 miles.

Sounds unpleasant weather up there for you Peter and Lesley. Getting stuck in regardless which shows your inner as well as mental strengths. Hope your cough subsides Lesley and that the hard ice doesn't become a problem Peter.
Well done on 250 park runs Donnie1; similarly in a way to duo who at least has done a good few I have done....none! There are two park runs within a mile of where we live and another just three miles away but not our thing even though it's a superb way to get people out running.
Hope you get the Garmins sorted out hs and Peter.
Would it be worth seeing a sports physio Jack? As for stretching before a run... that's not recommended. I'm sure you're aware of that though. Take care especially as Sydney is on the cards.
What a pain that school is already becoming a drag Mrsb. Somehow, based on previous ugh situations I wouldn't be surprised if you ride out the storm. The word tenacity comes to mind in relation to lots that you've experienced.
Too bloody cold and icy again this early morning so very unusual went out at 1pm. The pavements were clear but I was surprised to have to be careful on long icy patches along the trails. Did 5k ok and it'll bea late outing again tomorrow.

My run got lost but I managed to download it via a lead to my laptop so all is well with the world. I am following a Garmin Coach plan and it would show as a missed workout if I couldn't get it to download.

It's annoying when there are outages, but at least we can download it from our devices.

I am currently debating leaving my job too. Even more so when the commute is slow due to the snow. I am sure you will do what is right for you Mrs B.

Where are you based EarlyRiser? 1000 feet was nothing to me about 6 years ago but now its tough. I am planning to work on hills this year.

I was out this morning, 5 miles done in crunchy snow with ice underneath. Yaktraks help loads. Can't wait for it disappear.

These are our pavements -

Now I really should do some work ;-)

Wow @Lesley C. That's a different sight to what I see. Commute in bad weather is no fun. Take care on roads if you do.

re hills/where l live. Moved to southern Spain, Malaga province, a couple of years back. Still working, remotely. Previously lived near the Cambridgeshire Fens, so most running was on the flat. We used to call the wind on the Fens our hills, which is partly true I suppose. But even so, I'm getting used to the idea that where I am now is truly hilly!
