Saw Sarah hs. Good interview and a 5k woman upping her distance! Fabulous. Good plug for your running group too.
What a terrible day weather wise here, hope it wasn't as bad for you.

Glad you are starting to feel better Lesley!

I've just seen Sarah's interview on i player Steve. Very impressive, and a plug for our running club. We are all very proud of her.

My virtual marathon with the other Sarah went very well and better than expected. Conditions were brutal and not helped by having to change the start, as just before we started a couple of dog walkers asked us which way we were running. They advised that the bridge which we would have crossed, had collapsed and was completely submerged. The water was too deep to wade through. We had to think up an alternative, which made the first lap 14 miles. We were joined after the first lap by some of our club runners, who accompanied us for the second lap. We completed the 26.2 miles before reaching the car park from where we started, so stopped our Garmins, and then restarted them, counting the distance as recovery! Our marathon time was 5.35 which we were very pleased with, as we were anticipating 6 hours.

Sarah was very pleased with her London time of 4.52, as her target was 5 hours. She ran the first 20 miles too quickly and slowed for the remainder.

Heck, what a start to your run hs, but s fine finish,
what a pity about that bridge but you finished within that target time. Great stuff. And Sarah too!
My morning run was abandoned after the cat came running into the house with a mouse. It was clearly ok but the cat, in presenting it to me allowed it to escape. A couple of hours later I'm still trying to coax it somewhere so I can catch it!
Two days off running won't hurt. Except I prefer to keep to routines and it's my mental approach to it that needs to simmer down!

Fabulous HS & Company it really went well from day 1 of training. A little old bridge was never going to scupper your resilience.
Great effort and achievements by all.
I’m on 2 days off too Steve and it does wreck your head 🤣

Steve, I'm also a man of routine and schedule! If I miss a run, I try to make sure that I make up the mileage during the following few weeks.

Well done, HS, and your friends too. You didn't have ideal conditions for your Marathon, so you did well.

Thanks Evangel, the conditions were tough, but we enjoyed the experience just the same.

I'm pleased that I'm in good company re routines! I'm like you Evangel in that I try to do extra miles to make up for losses. Hmm...even though I'm a great talker and advisor when it comes to telling people to do otherwise! As LL will remember 😂.
The mouse entered the humane trap six hours later and it was set free at the bottom of the garden!
Routine kept today! Four miles along nicely waterlogged trails.
