Well done Steve getting out early and hitting the trails with your wife.

I'm a bit concerned about our virtual multi terrain marathon, because rain is forecast from Thursday onwards and heavy rain on Sunday. I can foresee a lot of walking, and taking 6 hours or more. We don't have a target, but originally were thinking in the region of 5 hours.

LL, well done for your interval session, but it might not have been a good idea. I hope you are soon back to 100%

Today is a rest day for me.

Time to do a serious evaluation of what you're doing LL! You've got several weeks til your half and plenty of time to put in what you need to put into your training. It's not always possible or sensible to follow a plan if we keep on coming up against a brick wall. Nothing changes until something changes!! Hmm..I can talk..I fall into the same bloody trap time and time again and also flog my dead horse!
Hope the rain eases off hs, we have heavy showers forecast for the next several days too and the trail around here get water logged so easily.

All good advice guys but you all know us runners are great at giving it..

I’m hoping to push through but will back off if I have to.

Thanks. HS is it too late to change some or part of the planned route.

LL, it's too late really to change the marathon route. We could do a road one, but we particularly wanted to do it off road. It is actually 2 laps of a 13.1 mile course which we have previously recced, so I have it on my phone and garmin. Any changes could mean us getting lost😬

Five miles on a chilly morning with the trails just light enough to run on without a head torch.

I seem to be running better this last couple of weeks but missed out my interval session because of chasing my (silly!) monthly target of 100 miles. (95 done).

Is the forecast still for wet weather over the weekend hs? I'm sure such stalwarts won't let muddy terrain spoil the event anyway.
Hope you're feeling better LL.

Glad to hear that you are running better nowadays Steve, and good that you ran 5 miles on trails this morning.

I'm afraid that the forecast for wet weather at the weekend is still the same, but as you say, the conditions won't deter us. We'll just run slower 😁

Ran an easy pace 4.37 miles on roads this morning with my two buddies, one doing the London Marathon and the other the virtual with me.
Some really exciting news, Sarah who is doing the London, will be interviewed by Gabby Logan at 9.10 Sunday morning to speak about the NHS. A great honour to have been chosen as its representative 😀

I'll be watching the telly if course at 9 am onwards on Sunday! Will have done my run and stuff by then!
It's pretty damp here in South East Wales but so far the trails aren't bad at all even though it looked as though they would muddify (!) when that first break in the dry weather came. Hope your trails stay reasonably ok hs.
Five miles yet again for me this morning but a rest day tomorrow to start October.
