Well done Steve, another 5 miles on trails.
I'm afraid the trails on Sunday will be wet and muddy. Quite a few of the trails aren't gravel, but are grass through fields, and tracks that have been cut up by tree loggers vehicles etc. It will be a challenge with possible gale force winds forecast and rain.
Looking on the bright side, some of our club runners have said that they would run the second 13.1 mile circuit with us 😀
This morning, before the rain, I ran the final tapering run before Sunday. An easy pace 20 minutes on roads.

Good luck HS, I do hope the weather is kind.
I have run quite a few marathons in very wet weather.
Still not much output from me, this respiratory infection just isn't clearing. Plus we all had a stomach bug at the weekend. Getting some antibiotics today so hopefully I will be better once they kick in. Hoping I haven't lost too much fitness, will take it easy for a few weeks though.
Definitely feels like autumn now, was still summery last week and it just suddenly changed.

Mileage declared for the month finished on 112.5 (get me! Not rounding up - trying to be brave)
1157.5 for the year.

Thanks Lesley, I ran my marathon pb, the New Forest Marathon, in torrential rain, and strong winds, way back in 1993. I'm expecting Sundays to be nearly 3 hours slower😬 Sorry to hear that your respiratory infection isn't clearing, and that you had a stomach bug at the weekend. I hope the antibiotics soon "get to work!" It's definitely getting cooler now.
Well done GG for the September and annual mileage to date.

Sorry to hear your still not well Lesley.
5 miles today nice temperature but still harder than it should have been. Glad your running has improved Steve. Best of luck Sunday HS and all the marathon runners. My son in law doing it. I’m looking after 3 x grandchildren which I think may be tougher 😁

Well done LL for your 5 miler, but sorry to hear that it was harder than it should have been. Thanks, I think we will need luck for our off road virtual marathon. I hope your son in law does well in his marathon. I'm sure that you will find looking after 3 grandchildren tougher!

Perfect taper done hs, let's hope the course isn't too muddy and it's not quite as windy as forecast. Five miles when you're not feeling 100% LL?! Be kind to that body. And you take care of yourself too Lesley. Good running still gg.... not long now until the day! Dentist for me and no running today. Flu jab in the morning.

Thanks Steve, I think it will be a case of slow but sure.
Good luck with the dentist and flu Jab. I'm still waiting to be called up for mine.
No running today for me, of course, but I'm meeting up with my two Marathon buddies for lunch at a lovely old fashioned tea room in the village. They have lovely crockery, a selection of homemade cakes, and a varied menu.

Good luck Sunday to the three of you hillstrider. I hope the trails aren't too bad for you and your friend running the 'proper' London enjoys the experience.
