I started a training plan for a half in November.

I can do the distance but would like to do a better time than my last so following a plan.

Easy 4 tonight.

Re. intervals: the pace you do the intervals depends on what the purpose is. For example it can be useful to do a set of 600m. or 800m. reps. at your target 5K pace - no faster. Then your body will be used to running at that pace. Or you may try reps at 10-15 secs/km. quicker than race pace, and after a few weeks you will find that race pace feels more comfortable than previously. Of course if you want to increase your raw speed, then you need to run at say 85-90% effort to achieve it. That is partly from professional advice, and also my own practice.

Good advice re intervals hs and Evangel

Especially concerning their purpose such as faster pace for races.
Maybe for me the knocking off a few seconds per mile wouldn't be worth the intensity involved just for my day to day running. Or maybe I'm a bit lazy on that score.

Damn it...my foot is playing up again and I have to rest it. Typical when I'd just begun to get some distance in.

Sorry long time no post, life has been hard and it has been difficult to do much due to the MS, but in saying that I have reached my walking target of 325 miles this year yesterday, so that is something to celebrate.

Hope you are all well

That's great RFJ and what an achievement despite how tough it's been. Good to see you posting here.
My nuisance foot was ok this morning thanks LL. Did an eight miler which sees me with 200 miles to go to reach the target, thankfully all being well I won't have to grumble about winter runs!
