Took part in the end to end virtual 5k world record attempt with a few other club members this morning on trails. Very pleased with my 27.15 as it was the first 5k for several weeks since commencing marathon training.

Thanks everyone, it went very well this morning. Was chilly though, autumn is definitely not far away. Took ages to setup and I saw some red squirrels. Looking forward to the next one now.
I saw that on my Facebook feed HS, maybe try it another time. Did you have to pay for it?

Glad everything went well Lesley, it must have been quite stressful!
No, I didn't have to pay, as I didn't want a medal, or t-shirt. They were very expensive, and not worth it for a virtual race.

Red Squirrels..! How superb is that Lesley! Glad that Park went well too. Only Greys down here, I saw a total of seven on my run yesterday. 27.17 hs! That's pretty well up there. Great run.

I haven't seen red squirrels for many years, but see greys every day. When I lived in Surbiton many years ago, there were many of them. I think they still survive on the Isle of Wight.
Thanks Steve, I was pleased with my time.
This morning was just a short jog, loosening up from yesterday. Tomorrow is scheduled for 18 miles. It's forecast to be hot, so that will make it even harder 🌞🥵

Some great stuff going on hope RD was good Lesley
I also did the 5k world record attempt but did it as a half marathon run. I met The Scribbler which was fabulous did 10 together for her last long run for GNR the had a hot chocolate before I went out for the last 3.1. I had planned 15-16 but I misjudged the loop I was on and ended off back at the car as it was drizzly I was a bit cold so sacked it off at 13.
Red squirrels I’ve only seen 2 in the last few years one dropped a nut on my head in Keswick the other was in my local woods. We have seen black ones at St Ives (Cambs)
Steve I know your disappointed with your pace but enjoying your running is more important. I’ve found doing some intervals in my runs quite enjoyable and it’s helping overall pace so maybe some of those if you felt up to it?
FF sorry your motivation is lacking hope you find it again soon.

GG, I found enough to do 7 miles this morning, it's the rest of the week that I may struggle with.

It's just right temperature wise here right now hs so hope the same for you on your 18 miler hs. 14c here and calm. Thanks gg. I do begin an " intervals" regime now and again and did quite recently. They do give results there's no doubt about that. Trouble with me is I'm pushing against the tide of age and long standing neural damage so any improvement is way way off where I'd like to be. Never going to knock off minutes per mile let alone a decent number of seconds! Yeah, I ve loved running, still do after over forty years so shouldn't grumble like I do.
5k at almost temp this early morning, mist hanging over fields......

Not much running for me this weekend as was away for the weekend. Did a tourist parkrun in a best time this year. Not as good as your 27 HS but in the 28’s. Glad your Run directing went well Lesley. Nice one FF maybe enter an event to train for? Well behind schedule now but starting a half training plan so will focus on that rather than catching up lost miles. Quality rather than quantity? 🤷🏻♀️
