LL, I 'm sorry to hear that you are still feeling rotten, and now have a terrible cough. I hope that you will be feeling better for Christmas Day!

Falcarius, good luck, your remaining 20 miles are almost a certainty.

Thanks Steve, the knee seems fine now, but I decided to rest it today, to be on the safe side.

Well done for this mornings couple of miles, and yesterday's weights workout.

I walked to the supermarket this morning and was there at 7am. It was already very busy, so goodness knows what it will be like later on, and on Christmas Eve! Farmers Walk back and it was still fairly dark.

5.1 miles this morning, out along Fife Coastal Path, back along the beach takes me to 741.7 for 2024 (hopefully should make my 750 ... )

Hi guys sorry for being AWOL (again) I really don't know where the days are going.

I failed epically at running at the weekend, Friday I went to the beach with my mam and best friend for a swim & sauna, another friend has started a business with a pop up sauna they have at the beach, so we dipped in the sea - friend and mam got knocked over off a wave and I have no clue how I stayed upright, before heading to the sauna to warm up - what a brilliant thing to do! Will definitely be back.

Saturday and Sunday the weather was just awful and I wasn't feeling 100% bit of a cough, bit of a sore throat, bit of a headache. Nothing that significant to announce I have a cold but enough to have me keeping an eye on symptoms. They are a bit more prominent today. The lack of moving meant I got ahead of Xmas prep. Few things to do tonight/tomorrow but nothing too significant.

I got a letter today with the date for my op!!! 31st January. This date is perfect as I have quite a lot on in Jan already and work is mental in Jan, so hopefully my recovery comes at a time where life and work are quieter. Now to hope it goes ahead as planned.

Well done to those of you braving the elements (some warmer than others) and good luck to those closing in on your targets. I normally just go regardless of weather but the last few weeks I have massively struggled, wondering if it was the effect of I've lost my target anyway ...

On targets I am a bit gutted to miss on my stretch 1500m target, I knew a few months back it wasn't going to happen but I was always a little bit optimistic. For the interests of roundness I'd have liked to have got 1350 but that is out of reach now too. I will hopefully get a few miles in over the 8 days.

Hope you are all ready for Xmas and hope your virus is easing LL. I bet the wee man is very excited Lesley :)

What a great accomplishment Peter, great to note that you're "able" after the period of "ugh". Pretty good distance too along coastal path.
Well continued Farmer's Walk hs, that was early (7am) for shops to be busy, certainly not the case around here where it's been just standard footfall.
What a busy period you've had gg and now what a nuisance developing a cold. Sounds horrendous to me to be swimming in the sea ....ever! Well done on braving it . I tend to agree that when a target becomes unlikely to be achieved the inclination is to say sod it! Good news about your operation though although I'm guessing... pessimistically sorry...that it will curtail your running for a while.

Geez it was mild this morning at 10c and almost needless to say, damp as well. I covered two miles but damn it, am back to struggling which won't seem to go. Only another seven days to complete a full six month streak and I'm sorely tempted to take the first week of 2025 off exercise. My wife thinks it's unlikely but I'm going nowhere in my current mode!
Best wishes to everyone here for a super Christmas in all ways . Run well, be well and be happy.

Sometimes it’s breaking that pull to give you the permission to stop, much like losing my target in September. You do so well though Steve many would have given up years ago.

My running will be curtailed for sure but I’m aiming to do lots of planning for my return around April time (if things go as scheduled) my first real back to running is a weekend in wales in July then it’s Berkeley marathons end of September and Meriden in November so all far enough out. I’ll concentrate on strength in meantime.

I’ll nip out for a few short miles when I finish work (early flyer at 1!!) then get on with Xmas prep.

Welcome to Fetch and the 1000 mile thread @Steeley

Well done Steve for your continued streak through December as we know it's your least favourite month.
Hopefully only an hour or so to go GG.
I finished work yesterday evening/night and not in until Friday evening now.
I have considered going for a run today while it's quite mild here but I've been out for breakfast, washed the car on my return home and now sat with a cuppa, it will soon be lunchtime and I guess not long after that getting dark but I'm still considering it.
