@steve45 yes, we are over summer solstice and (as always) heading in the opposite direction! Like ships in the night. It’s actually been quite mild the last few days but it’s heating up for Christmas and Boxing Day. It will be on or over 30 degrees on both days. I am on cheese and seafood duty for Christmas Day. Not looking forward to dealing with the crowds at the market! @hillstrider hope the knee pulls up okay and nothing comes of it. It is promising you could carry on running. @Looby Loo sorry to hear about the virus. Look after yourself and bounce back in the new year. Look forward to hearing how the rest progress towards the target. I am presently sitting at my kitchen bench with a coffee on Sunday morning endeavouring to talk myself into the appropriate mental state to complete a long run. I logged on to find some inspiration. So thank you. One foot in front of another eh? |

Thanks JackFW, I'm going to try out the knee this morning. I hope that you did get out the door and go for a long run. |

Impressive miles Donnie1 but a bit of a nuisance if that cold develops. Hope it goes. You're certainly having a go Cheeky's Dad, couple of good distances there as you chase the target. What a finish coming up...🫰. Hope your head got you out of the door Jack. I can't remember when I last ran in temperatures similar to those you're experiencing... probably in the 1980's during a rare heatwave! Too much going on and getting in the way right now gg. But you've dealt with it all very well even though the weather has been a pain too. I don't blame your reluctance to get out today FF. I didn't feel like or want to go out this early morning but did a couple of uncomfortable miles with the wind chilling me too much. |

Hope the knee is ok today HS. I find it very hard to run in 30 degrees, it's rare in this part of the world. Enjoy and head to the market early to beat the crowds. Enjoy your hot Christmas. It's a busy time of year GG. How are you feeling LL? I don't let the weather stop me otherwise I wouldn't get out the door some days. Pretty windy here at the moment. I felt a bit better so went to Parkrun yesterday, it wasn't a particularly great run. I was over heating on the first hill and ended up taking off my top layer and ran the rest in a vest top. The run home was horrid, not sure if it was just the wind, it was in my face. Anyway temperatures are picking up we will have a decent week this week I think. |

Well done Steve for getting out in the chilling wind this morning. Thanks Lesley, the knee was ok, and I was able to up my pace, a bit. I'm glad that you are feeling a bit better, and that you did a parkrun yesterday. I ran a solo 4.34 miles on roads this morning. The wind wasn't strong, but it was 'biting'. The knee was ok, so all being well I will do the Southampton parkrun Christmas morning. |

Dry and dull when I looked out this morning but I could see the trees were waving furiously so I went and got some breakfast. Well done those of you that went out in the various weather conditions, it's weird but also nice that we have folk on here with 30°heat and -°'s too, what a wonderful community of worldwide runners we have. |

I’m really rotten Lesley 🥲 have a terrible cough now too. Not been able to run for a week. Thought I was better but seem to have relapsed. Thanks

I have 20 miles to go...I should do it now unless I get injured or something. I should do it next Sunday if I stick to plan. I hope everyone has a nice Xmas and new year. |

Your weather is more difficult to contend with than ours down south Lesley so we'll done on getting out whatever the weather. Pleased that your knee is happy hs and proved ok on your 4.34 miler. Sorry to learn that you're not feeling good LL. Hope things improve very soon so that you can enjoy Christmas. Breakfast is a fabulous alternative when the trees are swaying FF! Exciting run -in falcarius, as you say, it shouldn't be a problem. Perfect weather conditions for running here this morning now that the wind has gone and it's dry too. Didn't help me much though, a couple of miles were a trial and there was nothing in my already meagre tank🤣. I've put it down to having done weights and strength exercises yesterday....or just one of those things! |
