Thanks Jaks. I hope that you have a good run/walk this morning.

I did a 4 mile road run feeling better than expected. I think that I might have sweated out the worst of the after-effects.
Conditions were good for the half marathon and I'm looking forward to hearing how it went.

Sorry you didn't feel well enough to have ran the half hillstrider but pleased you got out for a run.

Wise decision hs, you know your body well . A gentle four miler keeps you in the routine; interesting you saying it's hard to get going again the longer you don't run--I tend to find getting out daily much easier and keeps me "in the groove". That's been the case no matter what decade I've been in.
Hope you enjoyed the tea Jaks! And your training after.
No run today, my weights and stretches day. It would have been a warm session if I had gone out for a trot, 17c at 6am . Huge difference from yesterday.
I've recorded the World Road Racing Championships today and will watch later.
Pity our Laura Weightman has had to retire from professional athletics after two years of injury/surgery. One of Steve Cram's proteges.

Thanks I enjoyed both my tea and my run. I did a hilly 5 mile run/walk with my dog. It was very humid out and at times I was running in the low cloud so got very damp.

Steve, it was probably lucky that today wasn't a running day for you, as it has been very hot for the time of year. There have been lots of reports from the Solent Half that it was much tougher than in previous years because of the temperature. I believe that many were walking. I'm so glad that I didn't run, because I'm sure that I wouldn't have finished.

Jaks, well done for your hilly 5 mile run/walk with your dog.

Damp autumn morning but ideal weather, 14c and no wind. 6.3 miles after getting out an hour later than I usually do and in the morning light!
I'm not surprised at people walking in the Solent Half hs, but temperature aside walking in races seems to be quite common these days. I couldn't even walk/run such a distance as a half currently and I have a better appreciation of how hard it can be for some entrants. I noted in the Cardiff Half that a 4 .5 hour cut off is now imposed.

Well done Steve for your 6.3 miles, your mileage is creeping up. Back in our hay days, walking was almost unheard of, in fact, I thought it was cheating 😀

The winner of the Solent Half did it in 1.10, that's a very impressive time.

This morning was a nice chatty 6.75 miles in the forest with Sarah.

The winner of the Leicester half did it in 1:07

My aim was to beat the first half winner. I was doing the 10k.
Sadly because of chip time he overtook me on the finishing straight. I did 64:27 He was the only one. He must have won by a distance.
I enjoyed my run despite my time 🤣
