Nice one Loobs 👏👏😁
Well done on your increasing mileage Steve and well done to you HS on your chatty run.

I took the dog for a walk in the woods and decided to run the last mile down the hill back to the car for my streak saver.

Good running LL, hs and your streak saver Jaks.
Yes hs, walking was just not the thing to do in our good old days! Might have got away with a few walking steps in a marathon but back at the running club indeed you would have had to excuse yourself somehow! Realistically though it doesn't matter does it?

Thanks Jaks.
Sounds nice walking and running with your dog 🐕

Steve, I agree with you. The parkrun organisers are pleased that the average finish time had fallen from 22.17 in 2005, to 35.25. This is due to the large number of "fun runners" and those that just run for the social elements.

It's really good to see so many people of all ages, shapes and sizes out running. When I started running, there were very few of us, and we got "a lot of stick" and ridicule. A common shout was "get them knees up!"

Yes hs, when I started running it was rare to see anyone running around the streets and even more rare to see a woman running. Things began to change a bit around 1980 but most people who ran were pretty competitive and more running clubs emerged. However, as you say, "a lot of stick" had to be put up with and not always low key either. Thanks to the increased popularity of running it's generally much more pleasant for "all sorts" to get out there.

However it's not as inclusive as is implied in magazines/ in the media but I won't go on about that!
Another 5.2 miles starting off in the dark and relative chill this morning. Did a hilly road route for a change doing it in almost the exact same time for five miles as last week . Still having to stick to walk/run and keeping an eye on HR.

Looks like there has been some good running by you guys, well done. Well done LL, that's a great time.

Sorry that you pulled out of the race HS, but maybe the best decision. Hope you are feeling better now.

I did a soggy 5 miles on Sunday, with views of the Cairngorms. I'm used to the other side of them. Aviemore was quite busy at 8.30am. Lots of runners on the go too.

This morning I did some intervals on the Aviemore Parkrun route. I completed the virtual mile too. It was lovely and more undulating than I remembered.

This is a tunnel under the railway line in the middle of the woods. The wee man loves it.

Well done Steve for your 5.2 miles and getting quicker.

Thanks Lesley, I definitely made the right decision to not run. The unseasonal high temperature took its toll on many.

I am feeling better, and enjoyed yesterday's 6.75 chatty miles.

Well done for Sundays soggy 5 miles, and this mornings intervals. Thanks for the pics, looks lovely.

Just the usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning.

Well done Steve for getting out in the dark this morning and an improvement too.
Lovely photos Lesley and well done for your runs, well done for getting the virtual mile done too.
Back from holiday and cba'd this morning but I did go out and I also attempted my virtual mile. Not so good with a 7.00 minutes exactly but that's without my inhaler now, perhaps this is the new me but I shall continue trying to improve on what I have, it was also head / side wind for most of it. I'll stop with the excuses now and maybe have another go later in the month.
