It definitely was hillstrider. It's very rare for me to run walk but today I had no choice.
20.5 miles done slower than I've ran a couple of marathons. Never mind it's all character building.

Whatever the overall time what an impressive run FF.
Yes hs, no gadgets in our day and maybe running one's guts out when we were only in our late twenties/early thirties didn't pose any potential risks although it was often "hands on knees" or even throwing up at the end of a proper race!! I'd dare not push that hard at my age now.
There is a system which advocates to run as you feel ( I'm sure as everyone here knows and has read about)with various personally identified pace/effort markers. That makes sense but until I felt secure after a heart scan I didn't want to risk the worst following my younger brother's heart attack .

I have never trained on a basis of HR. I haven't got a decent HR monitor - the one on my bottom-of-the-range Garmin seems to be inconsistent. My heart and lungs are fairly good for my age. My only problems have been orthopaedic - injuries probably less than for the average runner. I don't generally go mad on effort so as to produce alarming pains. Am I too naive, and am I missing something?

I never had any alarming pains Evangel but noticed a falling off on pace relative to effort being put in. Because of my younger brother (aged 71 at the time, )having a heart attack, subsequently four stents and completely out of the blue and my late father having died from artherosclerosis I asked for a check up. Had a full Heart CT scan just to make sure. Heart wasn't a problem but some lung issue (found during scan)needs to be checked at the thoracic clinic. Not everyone is normally given the opportunity if a full Heart CT scan so I was lucky .
3.2 run walk this fantastic almost summer like morning was a hard effort for me but nice to be out there .

Well done Steve for this mornings walk/run.

Well done EP for your 15 miles run yesterday in the heat. A good idea taking a recovery day today.

I ran 6.47 miles in the forest this morning with two running friends. It was very hot, and our course was surprisingly muddy. Some stretches were almost unrecognisable as they were covered with undergrowth which wasn't visible on previous runs.🥵🌞

Thanks
It was hot and we have another hot week ahead so I have decided to make this a cut back week!!
I have also noticed that there has been a growth spurt in the undergrowth!
Only last week I was saying Autumn was here and now it's too hot again

Just like summer! 4 miles still run/walking along the river.

I'm sure the undergrowth revival will be short lived!
Well Farmer's Walked again hs.
Cut back week while it's a bit uncomfortable seems a wise call EPix.

Close your eyes steve45 and geordiebells I'm in a mischievous mood, 7.59 progressive miles done this morning. I felt quite good after Sunday's leg mashing.
