Thanks GG. It was unbearably hot, and it wasn't long before some started walking. I managed to resist the temptation and dug in. I went through the first 5k in exactly 30 minutes, but slowed in the second half finishing in 1.02.55, 431 out of 923 finishers.

Enjoy your run with your friend, and hopefully it won't be too hot for you.🥵😎

I was 9th out of 22 MV70+ and the 8 quicker than me were all early 70s.

Well done with your race HS. You have been doing some good sessions this week.

Looks like everyone has been. Sorry been a bit AWOL. I have been out and did a sunset run up our local hill on Wednesday for the solstice, it was a good one.

It's been really hot here, even at 10.30 on Wednesday night it was still 17 degrees. I was also RD at Parkrun yesterday, had a lot of difficulty getting volunteers this week. Not sure why. It all went fine though and ended up with only one spot empty.

Easy week for me next week as I have my next race next Sunday. Hoping it cools down a bit.

Sounds like a lovely way to celebrate solstice LesleyC

Well done on a hot 10k hs, and for keeping a push on the pedal. A great result.

Slow and steady fighting over grown undergrowth and happening upon a VERY steep and loose ground decline as well as taking photos for a competition but we had fun. Just don’t know where the weekend has gone.

That’s a great time under the circumstances HS. I was tail/run walking a 3 mile fun run today and couldn’t cope!

Might stick to 2 wheels this week. Nice to hear from you and as HB says sounds lovely.

Well done GG.

Sorry for radio silence, work has been manic. And yesterday life got a whole lot more hectic - one of our cats had to be put down because she was really poorly - the vets couldn't work out what was wrong, just that she was fading fast and wasn't responding to any treatments. That's bad enough - but she had 3 kittens two weeks ago so we are having to bottle feed them. After one night I am exhausted.

Oh MrsB that is tragic I’m so sorry to hear. I hope the kittens do well, I bet they’re missing mum. How sad. Sending love

That's sad Mrs B. Hope the kittens do well.

The weekends do just disappear GG. It's Sunday evening already.
