12.2 miles/month is better than nothing Steve, and superior to all the non runners.

It was definitely much cooler this morning, with a strongish breeze.

My shopping was heavier than usual, so I challenged myself to walk faster than usual. A man walking towards me said that it looked like I was on a mission. 😁

Good luck with your race Lesley.
Only 57 for me in June way behind now. 2 runs of 5 being the longest so understandable. My July mission is to start increasing my long runs again.

Have a lovely weekend folks.

Two people with missions there! Hope your July target goes to plan LL, you've got a strong base to work off and we'll done on 57.
Thanks hs. How heavy are your bags? I find 8-10kg enough to be carrying and doing a reasonable walk.
I've got a green tick! Did 5k walk run this morning. Knee is pretty good except for going downstairs still so I'll wait for that to go before running properly.

I've got no idea Steve how much the bags weigh. All I can say is that I carry two in each hand, and they are very heavy. When I first started the twice a week shopping walk, I had to stop two or three times and put them down. I don't stop now, so I must be getting some benefits.

That's good news that you have got a green tick, and walked/ran 5k this morning. Hopefully it won't be long now until you are running properly again!

I ran 6 miles this morning solo, including 5k on one of the courses we ran during the pandemic. I ran the 5k in 29.03 a WAVA of 67.70%. My Vo2 max was 50, the top 1%. That's the highest its ever been since I've been recording running on Garmin Connect. Perhaps the Farmers Walk has been a contributing factor 🤔

Tut! I could've secured another green tick day but thought a bit longer continued caution was worth losing it even though I felt ok run/walk two miles. What a fantastic early morning out there too.
What a great pay off with all your consistent training hs. Well achieved!!
I'm sure you'll put in something impressive now that you're home FF .
Hope the HM is in good conditions up there Lesley and that you enjoy it.

Caution is always the best way Steve. There are several runners in our club that have consistently ignored injuries, some long standing, that are unable to run now. They cycle and swim, but its no substitute.

Thanks for your kind comments re my Vo2 max. I don't know how accurate the Garmin Connect data is. I certainly don't have the fitness of a 20 year old 🤣

Just an easy pace 4.25 miles on roads this morning with a running friend who was running in the opposite direction.

I've seen your halfmarathon info Lesley! What a run, well done especially the miles after mile 8. Great negative split stuff!
