Thanks everyone, I'm ok and seem to have got off quite lightly. I thought that my heart rate would have gone up, but when I checked on Garmin Connect, it hadn't.
Well done LL for your fartlek run this morning, and green tick.

Oh heck, that sounds a nasty fall hs. Glad you seem to have gotten off lightly. Did you simply trip or ..? Your VO2 is exceptional then. Maybe you were going toooo fast! Good to get that green tick LL. Mine has gone.. for now...again!! Two chilly miles run walk in the rain this morning watching the season slowly change already!

I thought your race was quite impressive given the elevation etc. A pw can only be measured course for course! I still say well done.

I was very lucky Steve as most people my age would have broken a bone or worse when falling on tarmac. I wasn't running at the time, but was waiting to cross a road. Sarah who was with me said that she thought that I had tripped on the kerb. It's ironic that I haven't fallen in the forest for ages, yet fall whilst attempting to cross a road ☹️
Well done for your chilly run walk in the rain 🌧
I managed the Farmers Walk this morning with no problems, so the fall doesn't seem to have done any damage, except to my pride🤣 I have lost a bit of self confidence now, so will take things a bit easier for a while.

Good morning all. Well done Steve for braving the rain (sod that). Your usual strength training hillstrider, well done. It's a shame your confidence has taken a knock from your fall but it's understandable I suppose as we get older. 5 miles for me this morning, I may or may not run again this week before my 6 mile race on Friday. I never did get any hill training done for it.

Oh no HS that sounds really nasty, hope your not too sore today.
Good to see you get out for a run today Steve.
Thanks for the comments. I think my lady hormones are playing a really big part in that my moods are all over the place. Sometimes just having a good cry does help IMO.
Will try an easy run later. Busy day at work today - needed a seat been running about all morning.

Thanks FF, it's true that as we get older, we get less confident, but still try to make the most of life.
Well done for this mornings 5 miles, and good luck with Fridays 6 mile race.
Thanks Lesley, it could have been much worse. I'm feeling ok today, but a bit vulnerable. I'm intending to do the Wednesday training tomorrow, which will be a good test.
I hope that you have some good friends that encourage you when you are feeling down. You will certainly get support from us on here!
I hope that you enjoy your run later today! I'm sure that you will feel better afterwards. We all have days when we don't feel like running or doing other things, but always feel glad that we did.

I know how you feel HS I still get flash backs to mine. A little hill session tonight means I’ve started the month well. We got absolutely drowned.

Easy 5 miles done. Legs were tired but it was nice to get outside.
Good luck on Friday FF.
Hill sessions are good LL.

Thanks Lesley. I'd like to do the odd hill session but I'd have to drive to find some and that doesn't sit well with me unless I have to be somewhere for some reason or other I run from home.
