Trying to jam a run in around a heavy schedule and especially when you're not feeling well is not what enjoyable running is all about. Good decisions made there gg
Ok, glad you did recover sensibly hs and having a couple more rest days. 6 at 6 up there is impressive Lesley, you're temperatures are a bit lower than down here and it's chilly enough at 6am wherever! I'm still in shorts too hs. No run today on what really is a perfect, sunny day. It's due to be very wet tomorrow and I'm thinking it might be just too wet to enjoy. Yeah FF, it's rest that changes things; I know that your running has been special and better with less runs per week so hope the principle continues with me.

Thanks Steve, tomorrow's run will be easy pace with 3 running friends.
I usually wear shorts all year round, but might wear an extra top tomorrow, if it's as chilly as this morning.

My legs seldom get old either hs, it's the top half for me that needs extra warmth when temperatures fall. I'll resort to long bottoms when it dips with a significant wind chill, following the principle that muscles that are kept warmer aren't so likely to injure. Damp, soggy trails but the forecast heavy continuous rain didn't materialise. Four miles was enough today after donning a rain jacket in anticipation of inclement weather and not feeling free enough!

I've started wearing tights for just that reason Steve, there's no point risking injury when wearing tights will help. I had still been in a tee until this week and now in a long sleeve top.

Well done for your 4 miles this morning Steve, on wet, boggy trails.
We've had very heavy rain here, which didn't let up during this mornings run. The pavements and roads were "flooded" in places, so we decided a forest run would be unproductive. We therefore, decided on a road run, and I ran 6.5 miles with 4 running friends. I was a bit apprehensive about road running, but thankfully, my knees were ok. It was a bit cooler this morning, so I wore 2 tops, but still in shorts.

Still shorts and T’s for me. Didn’t go full tights last year. 93rd parkrun for me today. Have a little 5/6k run/race tomorrow which is a fundraiser. It will be a sociable trot round. Hope you’re feeling better GG.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone by Friday morning I was feeling better and nipped out for a little run, only 3.5m but I was meeting a friend for lunch in London.
Today has been packing up the boat for winter. It’s only 29’ but I still clocked up almost 3000 steps whizzing about cleaning & tidying. All done, winterised & covered up. Can’t believe that is 7m gone in a blink of an eye.
As we’re heading home I’ll get a reasonable run in tomorrow.
Well done on hill reps esp after your race hs & your road run too! And 6 at 6 Lesley & your miles too Steve. Good luck tomorrow LL
I’m largely still in skorts but I admit as a cold thing I tend to wear arm sleeves or a light jacket with a tshirt at least to start. I did do just under a mile barefoot yesterday it’s amazing how cold the paths are now.
Last weekends session has made me think I need more hill training in my life as the mountain type climbs are another level. So my focus next year will be on this post op.
On the weekend they had a prize draw for those providing feedback … I WON! A year’s subscription (2 issues) of Ultra Magazine!

LL, I hope you enjoy todays social fundraising run/race, and that it raises lots of money.
GG, glad to hear that you are feeling better now.
Sounds like hard work, preparing the boat for the winter, so classify as cross training.
Thanks for your comments on my training.
Well done for running a mile in bare feet. It's not something that I could contemplate.
We include hill work in our training every week, which certainly pays dividends in races.
Congratulations for your win in the prize draw. I hope you find the Ultra Magazines useful!
It's another miserable rainy day today, and has rained during the night. The local firework display was cancelled, and I heard very few fireworks from neighbours. I'm not running today, but hoping to do a medium long run tomorrow.

Intended no run but "popped out" (!) to deliver a card to someone, only 1.5 miles and brrr, the coldest morning for a long time at 4c. Damp as well. There's no doubt that your hill training gives dividends hs as does the variety of the terrain you enjoy. My wife is skorts most of the year too gg. Hardy women these days! Running a mile in bare feet is quite a feat😂. I watched the repeat of Snowdon Marathon yesterday and phew, that IS hilly! It would be nice to do that race because of the scenery and 3,000 limit but the days of such efforts are gone for me. Well done LL on all those park runs, enjoy your fund run today too.

I knew at some point you'd crumble Steve 🤣🤣 Only 1.5 miles but you ran.
Just shy of 17.5 for me this morning, first run since Wednesday as weather and life intervened.
