How frustrating LL.

Strong wind out there today but no rain (yet). 7.8 miles done including warm up and cool down with a 321 interval session. Hard work but pleasing.

Well done everyone as we approach the finish.

I've been plagued with injury and illness this year (2 bouts of covid) so I have no hope of catching up but will try again in 2023.

Shame about the injuries and covid duo I hope you're much better now and as you say always next year. Good luck for that.

Well done for your 7.8 miles, including intervals FF, in a strong wind.

Sorry to hear about your injuries, and 2 bouts of Covid Duo, but hoping that you are now fully recovered! Best of luck for next year, when I'm sure you will smash the 1000 miles barrier.

A good interval session on a gravel trail this morning with 3 running friends. It comprised 4 x 400 metres with 60 seconds recoveries, and 5 x 200 metres with 30 seconds recoveries.

Those are short recoveries for those distances hillstrider.

They are short recoveries FF, but are productive. Having said that, Garmin Connect said it was unproductive!

Many years ago, when I was a member of Team Solent, we had to wait until our heart rates dropped to 120 between efforts. Obviously we were all different, meaning that we didn't all repeat together. I don't use that method now, as I don't believe the optical method used by the wrist watch is that accurate. I think it depends on how tight the wrist strap is.

Sorry to hear that Duo hope you’re ok now and ready for next year. Keep us updated.
Ended up running twice today as doubled booked myself and didn’t want to let anyone down. Fortunately they were both short 😱

Frustrating about Garmin Connect hillstrider but I agree about being productive.

Lucky that both of your runs today were short LL. Hope they weren't at race pace!

Thanks FF.

Arghhh..! The very thought of intervals increases my HR now! Yes, I always thought recovery in relation to HR was the more reliable/beneficial way of doing them hs. Pushing to do repeats if HR is too elevated at the start surely means you're on the back foot in trying to do consistent times. I find my chest strap very accurate....but am not currently doing anything strenuous!
Your miles are so good FF and with intervals too. Staying well on form with your regular intervals hs, dunno how you do it!
Two runs is good LL , short maybe but worthwhile I'm sure.
3.6 on roads today, after the planned day off yesterday I couldn't quite get into it though!
