Your disciplined approach with proper rest between hard sessions is so wise hs. With NF10 coming up you should be ready and in good nik to run well in it.
Well...7 miles with your Mam is pretty special gg.
Heck, 13 miles odd FF, the flying continues, great stuff.
Indeed strength training is important but sadly I don't like doing it. But I do put it into my schedule twice a week, even so it hasn't made any difference that I can see to my running. For me it's all about maintenance of muscle strength into old age. Even though those muscles are hard to see😂
Just over 5k this morning on undulating roads.
And " hello jelly!"

It’s an area so easy to neglect if I have time I like to be outside not stuck inside. But I’m enjoying this round of exercises so if I can do 2 a week I’m happy.

Beautiful autumnal day today I may run later but prioritising sorting house out on a rare weekend at home. Seriously need to de clutter & sort stuff out.

Oops pressed return in error.

I’m away next weekend for a half mara with a friend at Bamburgh then weekend after off to Glencoe with my ultra running friend for a weekend of training with the great Nicky Slinks & Georgia Tindley (& others) learning hill skills, running with poles, descent training, nutrition and loads of other stuff

Weekend after back to the boat to close her up. So it’s a rare one at home.

Well done on the 6.2 Steve.

Well done Steve for your 10k.
You missed being blown about on the prom this morning GG.
I ran to parkrun this morning in variable weather and did Crimdon Dene, Hartlepool parkrun along the promenade. Back wind on the outward 3k and into the wind on the return 2k. After chatting to a stranger I ran 2 miles into Hartlepool to meet my wife. Total ran this morning 11.5 miles.

Gosh I’m so sorry FF I meant to message to say I wouldn’t make it. I can stay I’m sad to have missed the wind. And 11.5m for parkrun is impressive. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay up north.

Nice one FF and Steve I need to follow your examples and up my game.

My 90th park run today 43rd new venue.
If I do the rest up to Xmas Eve I should hit 100 runs 50 volunteers and 50 different events.

Your weekend away sounds great GG.

Lots of posts since my last one. Everyone seems to be running well!

Well done for your 13 miles FF, and 11.5 miles this morning.

I think age is determining my resting between hard sessions Steve. I'll be 77 in December and am aware that my body has been subjected to over 40 years of high mileage running, at a good standard in my younger days.

Well done for your 5k yesterday, and 6.2 miles this morning.

GG, best of luck with your decluttering ,and for your half marathon next weekend.

I ran a solo 10k in the forest this morning ,feeling better than for the last few weeks. It wasn't particularly quick, but my breath
