If I wasn't having some sort of potential issue with my heart ( maybe not if I'm being optimistic) I'd not be quite so fixated with running to HR all...ALL...the time. Even so there are a lot of scholarly studies showing running specifically to HR has great outcomes.
Just 3.3 this morning and felt bloody awful 😂

Steve maybe you should have a rest day. You’ve been doing a lot.

5 for me this morning before we leave York and head home.

Hi all, sorry I have been quiet for the last few months. Ive had abit of a rough time with work and various niggly injuries. Reading the posts on this group has helped keep me motivated and doing cross training and rehab. Ran my local parkrun on Saturday, ran 22.38 which I was happy with as it was the end of April since I have run at anywhere near that pace. Looking to complete my first proper weeks training this week. I'm doing the Chester Marathon in October so starting to train for that. I have a local 12 hour race the end of this month called Dusk til Dawn. I would love to cover 40 miles as my target. Most I have ever ran before is 28, so its going to be a challenge

Steve, although I always record my hr's, I don't take much notice of them, and definitely don't train to them. Perhaps you should take LL's advice and take a rest day. Don't be too fixated on getting to the 1000 miles.

Well done for your 5 miles this morning LL, and glad that you had a lovely weekend.

Good to hear from you again scottdog, and well done for your 22.38 parkrun. I imagine that you will now start improving on that, as you seem to have got your fitness back.

Good luck with the local 12 hour race at the end of the month, and the Chester Marathon in October. Two of our club runners completed the Bolton Iron-man at the weekend.

I ran a nice easy pace 7.25 miles in the forest this morning with two running friends.

I know you're both right hs and LL and I will as soon as two days this week are out of the way: tomorrow is the 44th anniversary of when I started running and I always commemorate it with a run....with gratitude for being able to after all the years gone by. And my birthday on Wednesday which my wife and I always mark with a run. I did my 7.3 (73 years old☹️😂🤪) when she was doing her ultra over the weekend so it'll be easy and short! Then...a run free day. Taking your advice hs and LL.

Turkhish, I'll be doing the Marathon that day! I can guarantee starting before and finishing well after you! (And watch out for that uphill about 1/3 of a mile from the finish!)
