Sensible that age bands in Park Runs are done in a fairer way and yes, a nuisance at least that you're up against stripplings of just over 70 hs with that broad age banding. Hope the race goes as well as you expect (?).
Leisurely running surely must be at least a reasonable chunk of running activity! Take it...you deserve it gg. That new week regime you have though seems quite a general good mid period marathon training one--although for now the Friday, Saturday and Sunday seem a bit heavy duty in view of you recent fantastic 70! In my good days (way back then) unless the races had been just 10k ones, longer distance finishes would have meant a good low key month if I'd put serious effort into say a half or a marathon. Only after a decent recovery would the distances ramp up and then only if it were for a half or a marathon again.
Typical week would have been 3 x 45 minutes (varied paces), one hard sixty minute club run, one weekend road race or long run if forthcoming race was a half or more. Two days a week off!!
Well done there Turkhish, you should indeed be pleased.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement, it helped me to dig in when the going got tough. It was great being a local race, with lots of supporters around the course. My official time was 57.52, average pace 9.15 minute miling, WAVA 69.39%. The official race results haven't been issued yet, so I don't where I finished. There were over 1000 entries, so it took a while for the field to thin out a bit, once we left the Gardens.

Excellent running hillstrider very well done. If your weather is like ours it was a windy and hot race.

Thanks FF, it was on both counts, and especially windy on the return loop, uphill, parallel to Southampton Water.

Brilliant HS that’s a great time. Especially as you’d had the bad fall in the build up. 👋
Well done 👍
