Sorry to hear about that Dave_K although no clear diagnosis after investigation is usually good news in that situation. Finding it tough just now Gromit

Nice to see you back running again Dave, but watch your heart rate.
I ran 13.15 miles this morning, on the Club's Half Marathon course. It's all on roads, so is rather boring, although the roads are almost vehicle free, and thread through some lovely scenery. I had intended to take it easy, but due to boredom, pushed the pace during the last few miles, and mile 13 was the quickest. I usually run it with other club mates, which takes away the boredom, but today was a solo effort. I've just noticed that I've crept into second place in the league table. Don't think it will last for long though.

Been a long while Dave_K so now gently ease back into a regime. Peter finding it tough? Then it must be but you're still knocking out a load of races Peter and I'm not surprised really. You seldom have much time out--"tough" is an adjective to describe YOU! Good position to be hillstrider, ready to pounce into the top spot! Your miles amaze me.

Welcome back Dave!
Funny few days here, 50th anniversary of my dad dying at the weekend (leaving my mum widowed at 25 while pregnant with me), and a friend of mine died yesterday (pancreatic cancer), I was at school with his wife. I only did a short run yesterday (5k at one of the Phoenix events) as we were watching the polo in the afternoon, so did 10miles today in the muggy weather.

Mrs B., that's very sad. My family history pales into insignificance compared with yours. [My dad died in 1973 from Mesothelioma (a cancer from him working with asbestos pre-war) at the age of 59. My mother is 99 and recently moved from her own house dad built 72 years ago into a lovely care home near us. It will be nice if she lasts beyond her centenary in January.]
I am so sorry to hear of your friend also. You've had a rather traumatic few days. May God give you peace at this time.

That's very sad MrsB, anniversaries always bring back memories. My mother died age 91 on Christmas Day 2011. Christmas is a very sad time for my sister and me.
Evangel, I hope your mother makes it to her 100th birthday and a telegram from the Queen, or is it a card these days?
Thanks Steve, I'll keep going for as long as possible. I'm probably making up the mileage for all the months when all I could do was walk/hobble/walk.
A spin session for me this morning. The class was only half full, which I suppose is because of the school holidays.
