Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've never worn Asics, maybe one day it would be good to try them. After many years of trying various brands (Nike, Reebock, Adidas...Pony !!!....Hi Tech Silver Shadowx4) I began wearing Saucony but lately, with the new fangled uppers the toe box tends to feel too close/tight. Trouble is I bought three pairs at a good price to keep me going!
It is a slow creeping up the table hillstrider but steady enough--haven't felt like doing double figure miles again this last few weeks.

I've worn Asics 1000 series Trainers for many years now Steve. The first Asics I tried were the 2000 series, but they were too rigid in motion control. My first "proper trainers"(I started running in baseball boots) were Brooks Chariots which were heavy with rigid motion control. I then tried Dunlop which were too cushioned, and then NIke until they became too expensive. I had a pair with the air bubbles in the sole. I also tried Saucony which were very good.
Good that you are climbing up the league table, no matter how slowly.

I ran 8.2 miles on roads this morning in my new Asics , with a club mate, and they were fine, no problems.

Sewerby parkrun, cycle ride to friends, nice walking pootle along the Flamborough - Bridlington cliffs and cycle back to caravan again on Saturday.

I'm running on Asics for the most part, these days. I usually have 2 identical pairs of Gel 8s on the go at a time - (or whatever last season's model is, I buy them from the local Outlet and add in a company discount!). I like them, good for a neutral gait. I do have a pair of waterproof Nike which are waterproof, but a bit stiff. Good for grassy/wet parkrunning in particular!

I'm still trying to close the 20 mile gap above me in the league table to sneak up one more place!

And ION, I finally signed up for the York 10k (next month) last week!

It's remaining pretty hot during "sensible" (!) day time hours here in Wales but running at 6-7am has been ideal. Just a five miler this morning which was nice enough although the trails are dry and one's feet tend to slip backwards on the loose surfaces.

Did 11.75 miles off road with a friend at 8am this morning- was pretty warm, but the scenery was stunning. Almost enough to take my mind off the hills and the nettle rash!

Fragrant floral smell?

It’s been a low mileage month so far but I hope to put in a few miles over the next couple of weeks and find my black heart.

Sometimes I really miss the 'like' button that used to be on the forums!
