I think you have to request the Royal Message these days on behalf of "your" Centenarian. Apparently there's now too many of them to keep up otherwise!

What a difficult time that would have been all those years ago for your Mum Mrsb. Strange for you too and now with fifty years gone, remembering with love is important. Back to running--ten miles in that muggy weather must have been a grind! After last night's storm it was quite fresh out there this morning and a 10k felt ok.

Thanks everyone. All runs are currently short, 3-4 miles using my Garmin to monitor HR. Trying to keep it in the aerobic zone all the time is proving difficult. Keep wandering up to the threshold zone, but not too much. Not getting anywhere near high HR, which is good.

Dave, a good idea keeping your mileage short at the moment, and monitoring your heart rate with your Garmin. Keeping well below your max HR is a good sign.
I slept through the thunder storm last night, which I was told comprised very loud thunder, and vivid lightning. Very hot today, so I only ran 4 miles. It's forecast to be even hotter tomorrow.
Take care anyone running in these extreme temperatures.

Steve, I've just noticed that you ran 10k this morning. Good that the temperature was more "runner friendly!"
I've got an appointment with the Hygienist at 2.30 and hoping that it won't be too hot "in the chair!"

I ran in to work this morning... it was allegedly cooler after the overnight storms, but the humidity was horrible. If I paused, my glasses steamed up!
You know it's not a good run when you're pleased to come to a road crossing and be glad to see cars coming.

I ran early thing morning - we'd had friends over last night and what with that, the thunder, the heat it was a sleepless night. We'd both woken up in a panic and couldn't find our eldest - bit of a worry as he isn't well (BPD) and had fallen out with someone the night before - turns up he woke up at 5am and went for a run!

Marky, I'm often pleased to have to stop to cross a road, for a brief recovery.
MrsB, must have been a relief to discover that your eldest wasn't missing, but had gone for an early morning run.
Hotter than ever today, but I set off just after 8am and ran 6.75 miles in the forest. I think I'm gradually getting used to the hot weather, which will probably mean that it will start getting cooler again.

oh dear that must have been a worry but..Masterb runs too!! Quite a team! Haha, glad that I'm not the only one who sometimes thrills at seeing a busy road that I have to wait to cross..not so thrilled if I'm on for a good time though! Early morning at around 6.45 am isn't too bad heat wise but warm enough.
