Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

cmhalst Useful training session. Was hard work when running into the wind, especially last mile that went past the finish and then looped back again. Not the most interesting races but a nice flat one.

CottamRunner Race Report:
On target at 5k, 21.02 (4.12 avg) - wind essentially with us. 6-11k in 27.36 (4.36 avg) - so 48.38 - crikey it was tough into the wind / gusts. 12-17k in 26.21 (4.23 avg) - so 1.14.59 - wind behind but legs tired and I blistered under the middle of my left foot. 18-20.5k in 16.34 (4.44 avg) - so 1.31.33 - the headwind felt stronger! Last 0.7km back (it measured slightly long) in about 2.58. So, home in 1.34.31 according to my Garmin.

Ok I guess - most people found it 3-4 mins slower than usual due to the wind .... so maybe sub 1.30 isn't too far away on a good (calm) day!?

MudMeanderer Realy struggled with wind. Felt good when starting, and got to 5k in barely over 20mins, but discovered I was losing upto 50s/km on part of northward leg, and by the turn around at Cleveleys lost most of the will to push hard. Consequently got a pw, and after similar conditions at Fleetwood Half last year, much less inclination to race on the Fylde Coast again.

Whoever Windy - and downwind bits didnt fully compensate for upwind bits ! Was running about 30s / km slower upwind and was tired of it by the end. Would have been a PB potential course on a calm cool day. Well organised, good event, fairly satisfied with time in the conditions - will hope for better next weekend at Silverstone!
