Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Bul Soooo hot and hilly!!
V strong in first 5 miles (29'00) but died in the second half. Felt strong though and on better day could have done much better.

Buzzards Sis I was hoping for sub 1.30 but thought it may be an ask on a hilly course on a hot day. My PB stood at 1.37. I had a great race. I planned to run 9 mm up to mile 7 (slower up the hills and making up for it on the down hills). I ran between 8.5 and 9.5 most of the time and managed to pick up speed towards the end (although the hills were hard work!) I passed lots of people, which was great, and caught up and over took a few club mates, one of whom paced me over the last 2.5 miles to make sure I came in well within my target, smashing another PB! A lovely run, a few hills but not too bad and really pretty. Updated with official time, rather than Garmin time. Still a great PB and ess than a minute in it but might just make it easier to beat next time!

Cookie It was too hot for me today and the undulations exposed my current level of fitness - two years ago I ran 1:05:10. It was good training though for the long summer races I've got planned.

Duncs Going for a PB on this one. Only raced at 10 miles once before and it's 2 weeks after a marathon. **Update** sorry to those of you who bet. Legs felt tired from the start and the heat got to me too. First 3 miles were OK and on target but just couldn't keep it going.

funkin Heard that this is a little undulating. Therefore with no knowledge of the course I'm aiming for sub 70. *UPDATE* very happy with the result. It was warm out there, and a bit hilly. Came 83rd overall out of 600.

Fuzzy Pre-race: Aparantly an improved route, no more bottle neck start!! Should take a few minutes of my previous time. Over the past few years I've always seem to have a niggle of some description for this race. Hopefully, touch wood, I'll be able to give it 100% this year. Want to beat 1:30 on this race, even better if I could get a new PB.
*Post-race* - So much for my pre-race optimisium. Not fully match fit, but expecting about 1:30. 1st few miles fine, then slowly lost pace. Defeated by the heat, could it have been hotter!?! My slowest 10miler ever...

Save any bets for a summer 10k

Met loads of Fetchies - some old some new. Ran with Mrs Funkin for about 6 miles - amazing level pace. Very hot so aimed to just get round - job done!

Kirsty Am running this not racing - don't waste your bets! Although...... my 10 mile pb is a couple of years old........
Lots of fun in the sun - well I enjoyed the first 6 miles and then regretted the throwaway comment I had made to a friend at the start - 'I would much rather run 10 miles than 10k any time'. What was I thinking??
Oh well - a beautiful course with lovely scenery to admire, and I did get a teeny pb, on my watch if not on the official time.
Also met 2 fetchies at the start, one of whom gave me a jelly baby. Lovely. Thank you!
